To my knowledge, VG has never been tested as an inhalation chemical over a period of months, as PG has been. So I have no idea whether it might cause some weight gain.
There are so many factors at play that it might be difficult to pinpoint the chemical as the cause. Food tastes better without foul cigarette smoke ruining taste, so we eat more. We sit at the table longer, not having to run outside for a cigarette, so we decide to eat a few more items to pass the time. Our metabolism slows down, so we burn fewer calories at rest. Many things conspire to cause a weight gain.
I am on the thin side, and always have been. I'm a believer in Dr. Roy Walford's low-calorie diet plan. For many months, I tracked every calorie I consumed, using a computer program, and now pretty much know when I'm overeating. But my 30-a-day cigarette habit no doubt kept me even thinner. Since I quit, I've gained about 20 pounds. I'm not worried .... yet.
