I had such a good vaping career.... I quit analogs, flew into the research, shopped out a whole months cig budget worth of gear and juice, and everything was going so well then....

Vapers tongue grasped me firmly.

The only thing that I remotely taste is my redbull from tasty vapor, and even then its rather... choppy. All my juices taste either like burning garbage or weird perfumey versions of themselves.

I feel like quitting! It frustrates me to no end vaping something that tastes like hell and makesme feel sick. If I didnt have the resources in front of me telling me that it would all end soon (and 2 aerotanks in the mail) I would honestly throw in the towel right now.

My wife says im putting too much pressure on it and should relax, but its hard when the flavor accounts for so much of the enjoyment.

end whine

HI, Water.. drink lots of water. rinse your mouth .. and . . . what's your kit? .. What's the mg of nicotine... I could handle a harsh throat hit in the beginning but have cut way back .. vapor tongue.. Best advice from my own experience is . don't vape more than you smoked. For me I had to learn to put the damn thing down. Cigarettes were different.. but I was chain vaping like a fiend.. LOL .. You'll heal up.. and some folks recommend a sinus cleaning kit.. where you purge your sinuses thru your nostrils with a mild saline solution. I read about it last night, makes sense.
Don't give up, relax ..
Blessings and Joy,
Bliss

Hang in there and vape a flavor you hate to get by .... there is an end - it will be here soon and flavors will be better than ever once the old olfactories are better!

There are a ton of suggested remedies around the forum - I swear by teeth brushing and listerine. Everyone is different. Just make sure you are hydrated and if you go the route of listerine or some of the other remedies along the lines of peroxide rinse - only twice a day - dont kill all of the good bacteria, just the bad stuffs!

If you have pickles, peppers and/or lemonade already in the house - it wont hurt and in the worst case - it should help pass the time until you are cured! But I dont know that any of the craziness should warrant a trip to the store :)

Good luck, hope its over fast!

vapors tongue. never heard it referred to as that but I know exactly what you mean and it sucks. you've received some really great advice already. All I will say is Don't give up. It does go away. I vape like a mad man and I thought it wasn't going to go away and just figured it was worth living with. I no longer suffer from vapors tongue and still vape as much as I like. Hang in there buddy, I'm sure it will go away.:p

Hi doortech9. Thanks for sharing your story. The advice here is something I've used because I had a case of it about a week and a half ago. Had I not been heard about it from the folks here, I would have been lost. It was good to hear that it was temporary. It was good to have some actions to try, including changing up my flavors, brushing teeth and tongue, keep drinking water and up my use of a nasal saline spray. Not sure what fixed it, but after a few days, I was back to tasting and enjoying my favorite flavors.

This is one of the things I love about this community. We don't just share when things are going well, but we share the struggles. And because of that, solutions are found and shared.

Hang in there...try some or all of the suggestions...it really is temporary and you will be back to enjoying your favorite flavors again. Your wife's suggestions of not putting too much pressure on it and relaxing are good. They are suggestions I need to remember in so many areas of my life, not just in the vaping world. Namaste.

Im using t3s tanks on an mvp and itastevv 3. 24 mg, but I cut some of my juice down with maybe 10 to 20 percent straight vg just to soften it and allow more frequent vaping. I plan to try the netipot deal, as I have noticed alot of dry sometimes bloody noseblows in the mornings, but that may be due to the weather being -40 the last 2 weeks and the furnace drying the living hell out of the air inside. Thanks so much for the support, its hard finding any living in a relatively small community with few vapers.

You live in a very dry climate and it's winter (hello, nosebleeds?). Add in the desiccating action of PG and you're bound to get dehydrated. Your body is fixing itself. Let it. Ride out the trough with juices you can sense/feel, not just taste. Menthol is good, so is liquorice, mint, and root beer.

A LOT of us have been there, buddy. It will pass and then you, too, will be on this very forum posting words of encouragement to a fellow vaper in need. That's how this works. We are a tribe.

I'd get into DIY if I were you. I got my 1st package of supplies last Saturday, and it was the best $42 I've spent so far vaping. I was able to get 9 different flavoring to experiment with, and I'm recreating flavors I'd bought at the B&M. Tonight I made a recreation of Tiger's Blood w/ some slight tweaks. That was the 1st flavor I vaped with and I loved it right from the start. The "real" 1 is a mix of strawberry, watermelon, and coconut. But I'm working w/ what I have, and I mixed Fruit Punch & Pina Colada at a high 85/15 PG ratio. It's cool and crisp on the throat hit w/ a nice balance between the fruit / coconut. It's definitely similar to the B&M 1, but it's unique in it's own right and I think it's GREAT. I've been chain-vaping it since I made it lol. This was the 7th batch I've made, and it's just great to be able to whip up something different on a whim.

Im a new vapor as well and I have already been through a short phase of no flavor/ weird flavor...It is coming back now though. During this time I have stuck with some real strong cinnamon which breaks through the dormant taste buds and it has helped alot. I have heard that everyone goes through this stage but it is better when you get through it. Also it can happen multiple times but it gets better each time after. Def not worth going back to analogues though!

what is vapers tongue

Basically, it's a layman's term for the effect of losing your sense of taste after quitting smoking. It's usually thought to be a result of becoming dehydrated (the PG in our juice pulls water from our bodies) and/or part of the healing process as your body awakens from the fog of subjecting it to 4000 chemicals in the form of smoke. It's a temporary effect (unless there's some other pathology at play). Drink plenty of water and ride it out.
