... Found it, thankfully, about a half hour later.
I was riding beneath a viaduct when I heard a loud shattering sound, like a hard glass bottle hitting pavement. I paused for a second but didn't notice anything unusual, didn't consider that the sound may have been coming from me, and didn't think at all of the Provari (idiot!). But a while later and a mile or so a way, it was time for a vape, and, uh-oh...
... So I hightailed it back to where I heard the sound, and sure enough, it was at rest on a concrete embankment. There is a fair amount of foot traffic in that area, but fortunately it was a cold, shimmery day, and the concrete was strewn with half-frozen autumnal detritus which held a lot of unpleasant sun glare, rendering the Provari sort of invisible in plain site. The Drunker tank was intact, and the drip tip was detached, laying about 6 feet away.
As for the Provari, it's fine, but now a bit battle scarred:
That it's dinged up a little really doesn't bother me, as I'm just thankful to have been able to retrieve it. The button, menu options etc. all still work exactly as before. I did inspect the battery thoroughly and it shows no signs of abuse...
... But I learned three things:
1) Never put the Provari in a side vest or jacket pocket while out and about.
2) Getting an inexpensive portable mod to travel around town with is now a much higher priority. I just ordered two Spinners and Kanger Minis... I'm something of an "absent-minded professor" but without the academic credentials, (absent-minded hippie drop-out LOL), and can get pretty spacey in my own little world of thought...
3) I'm glad I have two Provaris. My other one is chrome too, has the blue LED plus extension cap, and is the one that was bought blemished, though now they have switched roles since I never found a blemish on the blemished one.
Even though it's only a material thing, I was really, really ecstatic when I found it, and said thanks to St. Anthony of Padua, finder of lost things...
