... Found it, thankfully, about a half hour later.

I was riding beneath a viaduct when I heard a loud shattering sound, like a hard glass bottle hitting pavement. I paused for a second but didn't notice anything unusual, didn't consider that the sound may have been coming from me, and didn't think at all of the Provari (idiot!). But a while later and a mile or so a way, it was time for a vape, and, uh-oh...

... So I hightailed it back to where I heard the sound, and sure enough, it was at rest on a concrete embankment. There is a fair amount of foot traffic in that area, but fortunately it was a cold, shimmery day, and the concrete was strewn with half-frozen autumnal detritus which held a lot of unpleasant sun glare, rendering the Provari sort of invisible in plain site. The Drunker tank was intact, and the drip tip was detached, laying about 6 feet away.

As for the Provari, it's fine, but now a bit battle scarred:

That it's dinged up a little really doesn't bother me, as I'm just thankful to have been able to retrieve it. The button, menu options etc. all still work exactly as before. I did inspect the battery thoroughly and it shows no signs of abuse...

... But I learned three things:

1) Never put the Provari in a side vest or jacket pocket while out and about.
2) Getting an inexpensive portable mod to travel around town with is now a much higher priority. I just ordered two Spinners and Kanger Minis... I'm something of an "absent-minded professor" but without the academic credentials, (absent-minded hippie drop-out LOL), and can get pretty spacey in my own little world of thought...
3) I'm glad I have two Provaris. My other one is chrome too, has the blue LED plus extension cap, and is the one that was bought blemished, though now they have switched roles since I never found a blemish on the blemished one.

Even though it's only a material thing, I was really, really ecstatic when I found it, and said thanks to St. Anthony of Padua, finder of lost things...

Whew! At least you found it!

Here's something that might interest you, for out and about as an alternative to twists or similar:

SerenityGear Leather

Also, if you so desire, you could always send your Provari in for repair -- looks like it would only really need the tube, which Provari will replace for a flat $40.

Glad it survived. That is why I don't own one. I'd have never found it and been SOL. I definitely agree with having a cheaper device for outings.

Alternatively, thats exactly why I do own one (two, in fact) -- not the potential for loss, but the potential for damage. I am a monumentally clumsy person, and other than my Provari's and VMods, nothing else has put up with the punishment I dole out. A Twist in my hands lasts a month, at best :)

the battle scars give it character and make it look rugged and gives it a life of its own.
I've dropped my provari pretty hard. Had it hanging from my mouth once from the drip tip.
Drip tip popped right out of the tank and the provari hit the tiled floor, NO scratches at all.
The satin silver model hides blemishes REALLY well. Even if you scratch it, you can't see it.
You have to move it back and forth in the light to really see scratches in the satin finish.
Serenity mods sleeves are awesome, they have leather stamps and other customizations. Neat.

I got my mini Provari because I didn't want to have to carry a backup. It's had lots of bangs and falls that I don't think other mods would have survived. Actually losing it is a different story. I'd spend the money on a better way to carry it rather than backups. Something like the Pro-Clip might be perfect for your bike.

edit: You can get one here but they only have green available.

I like the battle scars. You know what Hubby says "Chicks dig scars." Shows yer tough and so is yer PV.

So glad you found it. I would would have sounded like Mr. Bill "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!"

I have some cig-a-likes and some X_2s for using around the yard or when I am out shopping. I just leave my trusty Provari hiding in the car.
