I know some people will disagree, but nicotine does have a flavor. I've noticed the difference in some juices but not others. Speaking in terms of the same juice in 36, 24, 18, etc... VG is thicker and also can mute certain flavors.

Last time I fully lost vaping taste I could smell it with a nasal exhale, while food and beverages were fine. No loss there. Switched up to 555 and Menthol last time it happened. Made sure to fully brush my entire mouth, not just my teeth and tongue. That helps when it is a juice issue, because I lose it right away.

Soap taste? That shouldn't be happening. Do you have a new atty? Did you recently clean out a cart/carto or atty and how? Same applies to cleaning bottles with DIY. Have to be careful of residuals.

May I suggest what the poster above suggested about the menthol? Use a real strong flavor until the taste comes back. Flavors like Tasty Vapor Atomic Cinnacide or black licorice really do the trick for me when I want huge flavor. If you cant taste these, I am afraid the cat got your tongue.

Very interesting thread.

I have been vaping for about 8 months and only using 1 flavor...Menthol.

1 week ago in the middle of the afternoon...the taste had a weird chemical "smokey" taste. Have to admit it was freaky! I have 3 PVs and the same chemical "smokey" taste when using all 3. I cleaned the attys and put on new cartridges...Same weird "smokey" taste. Popped in "new" attys and same "smokey" taste.

I had 5 new bottles and tried each and all tasted the same...weird "smokey" taste. Wild...Going from a "minty" menthol type taste to a weird "smokey" with out even a hint of mint.

Talk about being upset...One and only favorite flavor now tastes like smoke!

Long story short...Brushed my teeth, had dinner and drank a coke in hopes to kick-start my taste buds. It worked "a little" and I could taste a hint of mint but the smokey taste was still there. The next morning I tried vaping again and WALLA...All back to normal!

Weird...8 straight months with no taste issues then for 1 day the Menthol had a "smokey" taste. No issues (keeping my fingers crossed) since.

Yeah - it's not like the foods I'm eating or the beverages I'm drinking taste any different. Just my vapes.

I did a weird little experiment today... (I'm sure I'm not the first to discover this) This morning before I dripped I rolled the bottle around in my hands and even held it up to the heat in my car to warm it up a little - it dripped out thinner and tasted sweeter. I think this Upstate NY cold winter weather is messing with my juices.

What a horrible way to ring in my "100 Days Cigarette Free"....

I lost my taste.... AGAIN.

All my favorite flavors are tasting terrible. The last time this happened it wasn't quite as bad - I had burnt my tongue on some food and then for several days afterward I couldn't get ahold of that creamy taste in all my vanilla/carmel/butterscotch yummy juices. This time it's so much worse... it's that PLUS now it's like I can taste this funky smoke/tobacco taste. It's bizarre. Like right now - I'm vaping Cotton Candy 18mg 100% PG - aged 6 weeks - and it tastes like an ashtray to me. What's up with that? When I was 2 weeks in to vaping I went through a 5ml of this same mix in a day.

Tips? Advice? ....I know... I need to drink more water.

When that happened to me it was because I didn't take the polyfill out and clean it before using it again the next day.

Food even tasted weird. No taste to anything. Need to clean your polyfill and blow out the atomiser nightly. I use a direct dripper more than cartridge nowadays. I rinse that nightly also.

Interesting. I hadn't thought of the change in weather having an effect on my juice until you brought it up. I think you're definitely on to something! I've noticed that my juices and my flavors need to warm up before they taste right. It's just one more reason why I love the heated seats in my car!

Two days now with almost no taste when I vape. I am still having throat irritation and it burns when I try to vape. I almost had a cigarette tonight. I can taste a little when I vape but it still tastes odd. The PG may have caused irritation. Hopefully in the morning it will be better. I just ordered a load of flavorings and nic concentrate from OSDIYS. I hope I can taste them when they get here.

I have nothing but good things to say about OSDIYS. Some flavors are muted so don't just judge on that. Sometimes one manufacturer will make a muted flavor in comparison to another. (Example: FA vs Loranns)

Might be a PG issue. I'm wondering if the nic or a flavoring might be in play too.
Could also hop over to Walmart and grab some no-nic Glycerin (VG) and see how that goes.

This happens to me if I stick with the same flavor too long or if I am vaping menthol/cinnamon. What works for me is to vape straight PG or VG for awhile and then return to the flavors. I think that my taste buds just get burnt out on the same flavors so I must leave them for a short time. After using PG or VG (with or without nic) the flavors are always back to normal when I try them again.
Good luck. I know that it is no fun.

I'm trying out my new PA flavors from OSDIYS. I'm glad I can taste again. I went about three days with almost no taste when I vaped. It slowly came back yesterday before my PA flavors arrived. I ordered on 11/30 and got them on 12/2. My first order with OSDIYS and I am happy with their service and quality. I going to try not to over do it and lose my taste again. I was out of menthol and the Lorann's peppermint just wasn't working for me.
