Got the chance to play with the Orion last night. Did a 18mg 50pg/50vg mix and now I am having a better MTL hit. The store bought 30mg salts were just too much for me in the Orion. Funny because in my other pods the juice works just fine. I got the AFC almost closed and 10w 2boost (0.5 ohm pod) and am now getting a nice warm vape and throat hit without that dry harsh feeling in the back of my throat. The Orion just might get a second chance before going into bin of all the failed ecig gear.

This is why some of us bang on about wanting a pod that can do a 'proper' MTL vape.

The whole reason I decided to do the "Pod" thing was to lower my juice consumption and just tired of mixing juice, building coils, wicks...... The nic salt juices seemed like the way to go but there just isn't a single MTL pod worth a dam. Think I've spent close to $300 on different pod systems and nic salts in the last 6 months. RTAs are cheaper than pods or replacement coils. Got a Berserker 1.5 on order and digging up my old Zenith MTL tank. Going to give my local vape store that makes their own in house juice a try also. I have been vaping since 2010 and have seen how the industry has catered to more vape/clouds vs quality of the vape. Things were so much simpler back in the DCT/carto days.

I'm still not sure what the problem some are having with MTL is, but I know I'm pretty easy to please on vaping so maybe that's it.
In other news, I wasn't having any trouble with the dt that came with it, but then I saw this on fb. I couldn't resist.

ok so i just got an orion ,and i was wondering [surely this has been covered before !]
has anybody figured out how to get these pods apart yet ??
I really don't think they are possible to take apart without totally obliterating them. I've tried taking a few of them apart now and have had no success. They seem to be glued together at the bottom and although the bottom of the pod is a separate piece from the top it is set very deeply into the top portion of the pod. Even if there was some way to break the glues bond it still would be extremely hard to pry the bottom portion from the top without damaging anything. If you did manage to somehow get one apart I would think it would have leaking issues once reassembled.

The good news is that the orions pods last longer than any of the other pod systems I've tried. I'm in the middle of week three on the pod I'm using right now and have no dry hits what so ever. I imagine if I push it I might be able to get close to a month out of it. Most of the other pod systems I've used you are lucky to get 5-7 days out of.

Received mine today and it's a fantastic little mod for what i want. fed up dragging around big ... tanks and mods whenever i need to go out.

This thing is just awesome for filling the gap where you need a mod thats small, light, and gives a decent enough vape.. . It's not going to produce clouds like a dual battery 200w device, neither is it going to give that exact MTL experience like a Kayfun, etc,etc

The Orion makes me sad, in one respect.

    And that is:

It was released in a world without Provape.

Oh how I lament the loss of that great company.

Had the @$$hats in Washington not fudged up our whole industry, Provape would have survived long enough to see this resurgence of MTL love.

Provape definitely would have created an Orion-type device, and absolutely DOMINATED the low-power MTL market once again.

Funny you bring that up. I was just digging through my old vape bin and picked up my ProVari thinking what a great mod this was.

After mixing my own juice at 18-20mg 50/50, the Orion is working good for me. Still have the afc nearly shut for a nice MTL hit. Just wish their pods would last longer. I'm only getting 4 days and I only use it about 1/2 the time. Still using a RDA dripping the other half.

Yeah i'm not so sure about this 0.5 pods anymore. They just don't last for me. I set it on lowish settings and the boosts to zero as suggested above. They only last a max of 5 fills (5 is actually a bit optimistic. Its more like 3 or 4) before I get the burnt taste in the background. I'm wondering...maybe they don't wick that well, and that causes the premature burning. I'll cut one open again and inspect the coil closely.
I've done about 8 pods now and I got the same thing with all of them.

Yeah I am avoiding .5 pods myself for the same reasons Fredman1. Although today I tried something that I only tried with .5 pods without much success. I set the wattage for .25 pods at 8 watts under Replay with a new pod. Yeah vapor and flavor was pretty weak as expected. But I figured I'll just tough it out and see how long I could put up with it.

Suddenly the vapor and flavor improved and the vapor got hot. So much changed I hooked it up to EScribe to make sure it was still running at 8 watts. And yes it is. I dunno, my imagination... DNA Go drifts in wattage... I have no idea. I tried another Orion and the same thing. Pod breaking in? It is vaping like it is set at 10 to 11 watts now.

my experience has been the opposite. I’m lucky to get a week from an orion pod, and a good 3 from my zero.

I do realize that Billw50, but with a device that's already challenging to last all day on a single charge I would rather see 4.2v after charge. That additional 8% would be at least helpful. Plus, if 4.1v was the intent, I would see a blue light at charge completion at a lower voltage. With a device that's less than a month old and has not been used much that never achieves the intended full charge it does make me question the quality of the battery or possibly the charging algorithm.

All in all, I absolutely love this device for many different reasons. So I'm not complaining really. It just surprised me after seeing another users experience with seeing a blue light at the end of charge, a light I've never seen on either of my devices. So don't read into this that I'm dissatisfied because I'm not. But I did wonder if this was common or if I was doing something wrong. Either way... great device I would buy again.
no blue LED for me either using the supplied cable. just conks out and doesn't light at the end of charging. battery life decent though.

How many refills in a week? Which pod do you use? And what is your power, boost, and warmth setting? I was just playing around with using for the 0.25 pods with power 6/8/10, boost 5/4/3, and 5 for warmth. Although I just started to try this last night and I think it is going to work out well for pod life. I'm on the third refill now.

Hello everyone! I joined this forum because I found this discussion the most active and the most complete on Orion Lost Vape. I read all the pages and decided to buy the version with DNA. Here in Italy has a cost of about 75 euros, while the pods 8.99 euros. I have been a vaper since 2013 and have tried various systems during these years. Lately I've tried some mod pods, but I have to admit that this Orion is the best one and from which I can not detach myself. It is very comfortable, light, not cumbersome, has a quite satisfying yield in its limits. Use in Mtl, almost completely closed air, pod 0,5, base 50/50, nic 8. Supreme first pick n.4. It's perfect!

I've been using the same pod since I bought it, I think I've made about 100 ml, and it's still good.
