Willie, we always knew you were handy, but you've outdone yourself here! Lovely, just lovely!!

Got this cute miniature orchid at my Society's monthly meeting last night! Those flowers are only the size of my thumb nail! This is not my photo because I couldn't snap a clear one.View attachment 824817
Those are precious!

Good afternoon everyone.
I'm sitting outside seasoning a new grill. In about a half an hour I will put on some potatoes. When they are done I will put on some hot links and a couple of T-bone steaks that are currently marinading. The little meat shop where I get my hot links had T-bones on sale for $4 something a pound. I could not pass them up. The thing I like about the hot links is you can get X, XX, or XXX and they don't have that red food coloring in them. I prefer XX, XXX is a bit too spicy.
I was a bit hungry so while I was in the kitchen I grabbed a bunch of black seedless grapes. Dang, they are good. I truly hope everyone has a fabulous 4th of July.

Fireworks have nothing on the thunder and lightning we have had this afternoon! This is the first time in many years I don't have to deal with the noise phobia. After some conditioning exercises (yea, he works out) and ball throwing, Geordi slept through it all.

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Good morning everyone.

Gonna be a hot one here with very high humidity. I was hoping those dark clouds and rumbling were going to drop some rain here yesterday, but no such luck. That's great for people having outdoor parties, but my poor plants were hoping for a drink. If I'd watered last night it probably would have rained...

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Hola .. :)

Yesterday, I was invited to a get together that started at 1 PM .. plenty of good food, good folks and good drink .. and, most importantly, shade .. .. I overdid it and drank about a 6-pack, which I'm sure added to my One Pack .. sometime during the festivities, somebody handed me a guitar, so, being in that Mental State, I proceeded to embarrass myself liberally and with Gusto .. we did have a few nice Sing A Longs and I'm now hoping the Clowns with Camera Phones don't Post the ridiculousness on YouTube .. :( .. that's the Danger of These Days .. people whip out that phone for about any reason .. why can't we just let things Flow like they used to .. ??

I tagged along when some decided to hit Fair St. Louis after about 7 PM, especially since I did not have to drive .. I don't know how many times I've watched those fireworks over the years, but with the Fair back at the Arch this year after they renovated the Park, they were particularly Spectacular .. it was Crowded, of course, but worth every minute ..

Today marks the 2nd Anniversary of Our Thread, and I'd like to thank all of you for hanging with me .. as well as those that have come and gone .. it's been a Great Ride and I hope we will continue to gather around the Digital Campfire .. :)

Raise a Glass ..

Aww Willie, don't worry about it - really. Did you have a good time? Did everyone else enjoy themselves? Well, there you go. This will probably be one of the parties that is actually remembered as a great one and I bet you're invited back next year.

That's great that you got to see some spectacular fireworks especially since you didn't have to do the driving to get there. We watched what we could from our deck. The trees are getting bigger so we're seeing less and less each year. Next year I want to put the ladder up and watch them from the roof. (I may have to lock Mike in the basement though because he doesn't want me climbing ladders.)

Well Janet, after a 6 pack of Miller Genuine Draft, (and perhaps a little of some other this or that .. ;)), you can't help but not have a Good Time .. it was good fun and made me feel like a young 'un for a Minute .. :) ..

Back years ago, I'd go to a Buddy's house who lived very near the River up on a Bluff .. we could look out over the Mississippi and see the Panorama of Fireworks Displays up and down the Waterway .. besides STL, most all the satellite Towns have their own displays around the same time of night .. and, the fireflies were generally there to greet us as well ..

Have Mike build a Treehouse .. :) .. your own observation Deck and a Magical Place for those wonderful Grandkids .. :) ..

Fireworks displays along the Mississippi are always lush, because they can aim them over the river. Much safer. La Crosse's would be great, but that is 45 miles away. We do have a nice lake, and therefore nice fireworks, but I went to bed early.
