FT posted this in the petition thread:

Oregon health officials recommend six-month ban on vaping products

From that: "
Here are the options OHA sent to the governor:

1. Implement a six-month temporary moratorium on sale and display of all vaping products, including tobacco, nicotine, and cannabis, while the federal investigation is underway and Oregon’s evaluation of the ban is conducted. This moratorium should include online sales in Oregon. These options are provided independent of and without consideration of legal authority or approval."

So Oregon joins the States banning nic, if it holds. Like we've seen in the past, some vendors may decide to not sell/ship to Oregon addresses...

Ha ha! True!

Geordi's AKC name is Bijou Luisant Kontinuing Mission.

For the UKC (United Kennel Club), there was a limited number of letters allowed, so he is Bijou Luisant Kontinuing Mishn. :D

    They're trying to figure out how to get the old fridge out and the new one inside. Give me a break. I get the only pair that have never done this before (it seems). I'm praying now they can do this without taking the door off the hinges. Can nothing be easy? o_O

    Hola .. :)

    Good morning Bea and Anise and whoever is up.

    We're very upset. We've had an invasion of the Spotted Lantern Fly. It showed up a couple years ago, but is spreading quickly. They suck the life out of trees and vines that kill them. (Oh no! Not the vineyards!) People are freaking out and are spraying their trees and yards like crazy. Eeeew! A bug. Gotta kill them all! Unfortunately it's also killing other things - like our birds! Every morning I put out suet and it's always been gone within 1-1/2 hr. Now there's still a chunk left the next morning. Our chickadees and most finches, humming birds and cardinals have disappeared.

    Just finished watching a very good film."Vantage Point" on TMC. Action thriller, fast paced, story is seen from 8 different viewpoints. Really enjoyed it.

    I haven't seen it, but sounds like a retelling of Akira Kurosawa's world-renowned 1950 classic "Rashomon", starring Toshiro Mifune, and winner of The Venice Film Festival.

    It launched Mifune's career to become the most internationally famous Japanese actor of the last century. He also starred in "Seven Samurai"....later retold and westernized here as "The Magnificent Seven". He starred with Charles Bronson, Alain Delon, and Ursula Andress in the spaghetti western "The Red Sun", and with Richard Chamberlain in the 1980's mini-series "Shogun" in which he played the title role. That's just a few of the movies that he played a role in... And just a couple of the movies that have been taken from other countries and re-told/re-made...

    And...yep! I watch a lot of movies with subtitles...;) Often I find that when they westernize a story from another culture for a re-make, without an understanding of that culture, too much is lost of the humor or poignancy that was originally there...just my opinion...

    Oh no!!! That is truly upsetting! Those birds disappearing is especially concerning, but the trees being sprayed is also very upsetting.

    We're having a similar situation here, only they are frogs.....Cuban Tree Frogs. They are 5" or more in width, and will eat anything that will fit into their mouths. That includes baby birds, and all sorts of other lil creatures, including the fish in our pond!!!!.......the only predator that seems to work is the rat snake which is tenuous because the frog does emit a toxin, and those friendly non venomous snakes, know that. Even the squirrels won't eat them, and we've seen that population grow this past summer. We are getting rid of these frogs per the instructions given by Florida Wildlife, and fortunately, we've only had a few, but that is 'few' too many. Most of these are in S. Florida, but they are migrating to N. Florida, into Georgia and Louisiana.

    Scary stuff these days! Who knows why!!!

    Hola .. :)

    Follow up on the Spotted Lantern Fly and Cuban Tree Frog (disclaimer, I don't know squat about either)

    When I grew up in Texas, I'm pretty sure the armadillo was fairly exclusive to the Southern areas of the USA .. they have now migrated over the years to points even north of STL .. being a warm weather animal, I'd suppose there is some correlation with Climate Change ..

    These are the smaller things that Humans are not quite as tuned into as they might be the visual imagery of a melting glacier .. or hotter summers .. etc ..

    BTW, I am not against the armadillo, I find them to be an oddly, seeming Dinosaur like creature .. voracious insect eaters .. and, back in the day, you could buy ladies purses fabricated from their shells ..

    My Take ::

    I don't know about nic pod sickness issues .. what I do know is, the Underground Market in the USA for high strength THC pods .. up to 1000mg .. people are using the availability of these pods no different than when coke was distilled down to crack .. they want it, they seek it out and they like it .. it's just simple as that ::

    Wisconsin brothers accused of running illegal THC vape cartridge 'empire'

    I don't think China has anything to do with it other than making the pods themselves .. what this whole issue needs to be named is another Drug on top of the other Drugs .. the more and more easy availability of weed has morphed just like coke did in in the mid-80's ..

    And the Vape Pen has become the delivery system ..

    You want the straight skinny on the issue .. ?? Take a minute ::

    ADDENDUM ::

    My previous Post should not be interpreted as my loss of advocacy since the 1960's of cannabis for various Medicinal and Recreational purposes .. however, in todays World, where THC extraction equipment is legally and commercially available, I don't know why no one ever thought of the simple fact that, Street Dealers and their Hierarchy would, at some point, attempt to become the Walter White of the THC market ..

    Humans have proven time and again that if a willing market exists for the next level High, people will fill that Market with a product ..

    Of course, in this case, the legit folks that follow the rules are the ones under the bootheel of the so-called clamp down as it seems to filter from State to State ..

    The illicit Market could care less .. they will continue to offer the product as long as a willing buyer coughs up the cash ..

    Its crazy off the charts David ... in this article the Oregon officials admit that the deaths were related to THC products obtained at state licensed dispensaries. But they're hiding that fact from the general public and going after all vaping products instead using the deaths as 'cover'.

    Anyone ever grow sweet potatoes that can give me some advice? DH planted a sweet potato and the vines are almost covering a 20' long bed. 2 sweet potatoes are sticking out of the ground but they are the only sign that we're actually growing potatoes and not just vines. So.......should I start clipping the ends of the vines and when should we dig up the bed to see if we got more than 2 potatoes? I have this feeling we're only getting the two visable potatoes. Any advice would be appreciated!
