Mike :: In all fairness, and I certainly don't support any action against plain old vape Shops, there remains the possibility that the deadly products in question were not sold by or even possibly altered after the fact .. as noted in the article ::

"Jonathan Modie, spokesman for the OHA, says just because the person bought products from these two stores doesn't mean it was necessarily the stores' products that killed the person."It doesn't necessarily mean the individual got sick from products that they had purchased at these dispensaries, we just know that the individual shopped at a couple of dispensaries prior to getting ill," says Modie. "We're still waiting to get samples of the products and then we send that off for testing."

Well...that next paragraph has my blood boiling

"When WW asked if it wouldn't be better to shut down a store that potentially sold a lethal product to a customer, Modie replied, "How do you think the dispensary operator would feel if it turned out that the product wasn't theirs? We wouldn't want to name or point to a specific dispensary before we have all of the information that says unequivocally that that was the dispensary where the product was sold that made the individual sick," says Modie."

yet...it's ok to just shut down e-cigarette vape shops...

I don't recall if it was the article I posted a link to, or another one on that topic ... but it was said "officials won't even release the names of the two stores involved". Innocent until proven guilty I suppose. No I'm not blaming the proprietor, the product was probably obtained for a wholesaler.

And I'll even be open to the possibility 'the person' wasn't stricken from using what he purchased or he refilled the cartridges with something else.

it's just so irritating that the entire nicotine vape community is being taken down when they know it's tainted pot cartridges doing all the damage and killing.

Its crazy off the charts David ... in this article the Oregon officials admit that the deaths were related to THC products obtained at state licensed dispensaries. But they're hiding that fact from the general public and going after all vaping products instead using the deaths as 'cover'.

Exactly. They know it was tainted thc oil. Why shut down nic? Maybe halt all thc oil sales pending investigation (leaving other forms untouched, even.) But nic isn't implicated, just being punished.

I suspect when that info becomes more known in Oregon there will be some suits.

I haven't seen it, but sounds like a retelling of Akira Kurosawa's world-renowned 1950 classic "Rashomon", starring Toshiro Mifune, and winner of The Venice Film Festival.

It launched Mifune's career to become the most internationally famous Japanese actor of the last century. He also starred in "Seven Samurai"....later retold and westernized here as "The Magnificent Seven". He starred with Charles Bronson, Alain Delon, and Ursula Andress in the spaghetti western "The Red Sun", and with Richard Chamberlain in the 1980's mini-series "Shogun" in which he played the title role. That's just a few of the movies that he played a role in... And just a couple of the movies that have been taken from other countries and re-told/re-made...

And...yep! I watch a lot of movies with subtitles...;) Often I find that when they westernize a story from another culture for a re-make, without an understanding of that culture, too much is lost of the humor or poignancy that was originally there...just my opinion...
never seen the Japanese movie but I googled it. I don't think the newer movie is a remake because in Vantage Point, the POTUS gets shot and a bomb explodes in a crowded plaza whereas in the 1950 movie it's a murder/rape. The short series 24 was the same principle. There have actually been several movies that tell rheir story that way.

Anyone ever grow sweet potatoes that can give me some advice? DH planted a sweet potato and the vines are almost covering a 20' long bed. 2 sweet potatoes are sticking out of the ground but they are the only sign that we're actually growing potatoes and not just vines. So.......should I start clipping the ends of the vines and when should we dig up the bed to see if we got more than 2 potatoes? I have this feeling we're only getting the two visable potatoes. Any advice would be appreciated!
I grow them every year here. They are supposed to grow potatoes where ever they grow roots and you should be able to start digging for them when the leaves and vines start turning yellOw which generally starts happening as the weather starts cooling down. Here because it stays warm the vines don't really die back so I just start digging about now and see how big they are. If they're not I just cover them back up and try later.

Thank you! I'm going to clip the ends of the vines so they don't grow into the grass but now I know when to dig them up. I really appreciate it! I'll let you know if I get more than 2 potatoes ;)

Good morning. Going up to 91 today so we're not done with the AC yet. By Friday our high is only going to be 63!

I grew potatoes (Yukon Gold) for the first time this year. I planted in 3 grow bags to save space in the garden and it worked out very well. There ended up only getting about 5 lbs per bag which is not as much as expected so next year I'll pay more attention to the soil and see if that increases the yield. At least I know it can be done and the bags keep them contained. How nice to eat dinner knowing that what's on the plate came from garden!

:mail:I received my 2 spare Aegis Solo mods this morning. I got the Gunmetal Camo color. I like the color so I will use the Blue and Gunmetal and put the other 2 in my stash box. Silly me, I read the manual and learned how to lock the watts and still be able to use the power button. :vapor:
Made my first Fasttech Order this AM ..
I also put in a Fasttech order the other day. I ordered some spare parts for the Kayfun V3 Mini mods. I give them 2 weeks before they arrive.
