...Not really...;) I hit that "funny" button because your post made me giggle out loud...:) Upgrades are something that we all end up having to adapt to no matter how hard we resist...

For my part, I have never used the "like" button as a bookmark, though I realize many do and often a very quick succession of "likes" showing up in my alerts tells me that the person is not really reading them, but just catching up to the latest post . It's easy enough to "go to first unread". I agree that it has more meaning if it's only used when the person actually does like the post...

Wish there was a "read" button as well as a "like". I click on "like" button to acknowledge that I've read it, not necessarily because I like the post. By-the-way, if I'm just reading through posts and then have to leave, how does ecf take me to my first unread post unless I've liked something on a page? I didn't think it would know where I left off unless there's something I should be doing that I don't know about. Often it's very helpful for me especially if I've been away for awhile.

I think the last post number is stored with your account, either on the site or in a cookie on your machine. If you didn't "like" or otherwise mark your place, it may just store the page number in the thread.

I read only, very rarely like, but ecf knows where I left off. Magic of some sort. ;) :)

There have been a number of requests for a "read" button, and they're still taking suggestions to add a few more buttons...;) Personally, I would like to see some kind of gentle hug button for those posts where something bad, or sad has happened and I just want to give a little simple comfort without a lot of commentary...

No matter what side of the Fence (or Wall .. ;)) you reside in, most all of us can still get behind National Coffee Day .. :) ..

The Glorious History (where would we be without it .. ??) dates back to the 10th Century / Ethiopia .. the earliest evidence of Human Consumption dates to the 15th Century in Yemen .. when a Yemeneze Mystic observed Birds eating a certain berry and gaining unusual Vitality .. upon trying said berry, it's Magical Properties were instilled in Humans as well ..

Byron Gordon may have said it best ::

    An Ode to Coffee
The fragrant scent of roasted beans
Fills the air and floods the nose
    The promise of caffeine means
A final waking from morning doze.

A little cream, no sugar please
    I’m already sweet enough
A little more cream, don’t tease
Drinking it straight’s a little tough.

    Perfect color, coconut tan.
I pause before the first sip,
    To savor the growing elan,
Then the first bitter taste, just a nip.

First sip of warming delight spreads
    Now sharpening synapses
A better high than any meds
That gives a boost to all the senses.

I don't recall there being a National Nicotine Day, but if there were, it would go Hand in Glove .. so, join me today in Celebration .. as Charlton Heston once said "They will get my Coffee when they Pry it From my Cold, Dead Hands" ;) .. (as a side note, I believe he originally said that in St Louis .. :))

    "Good to the Last Drop"

That's been one of my fav songs since I first heard it sometime in the early 70's. Yikes, that's like 45 years back in time ... I'm getting old.

We have a choice of buttons to "like" or.....

No more options ... too many already ... causing me stress figuring out which one to use.

    Today's project.

    Now you see 'em.
    Knife Rack 2.jpg

    Now you don't.
    Knife Rack 1.jpg

Simple project ... yeah right. The measurement was listed as 22 inches wide. Janet measured our cabinets and 22 inches would fit. But, the measurement didn't include the overall width including the spring loaded hinges. So first it had to be stripped of it's hardware, and cut down an inch.

Oh ... and try ducking you head and twisting your body to look under the cabinet to put the screws in ... but pretending to be a contortionist was easier than trying to find the focus of my progressive lens in that position.

But it's done and Janet's thrilled with it. Successful day!

I take it you recovered from your ordeal. My ordeal was getting my iPhone paired as an audio device and a phone. And it worked and stayed. Didn't know if it would.

It'll be back, but....not for awhile. They're rebuilding the posting ratings....whatever that may mean.. and have to wait for the system to go through a cache of over 17 million posts
What are they doing, changing the software again.
