Good morning


I have two planted in my flower bed…yup in FL we plant them like other bulbs Both budded…both were snapped off and eaten by squirrels . @Diver9543 do you and your riffle need a vacation in my Florida yard?

Good morning Bea! A vacation to your front yard sounds lovely. I've never seen an amaryllis growing anywhere other than a pot! Those dang squirrels! Last year they decimated my jade plant that I've had for years. And its a bulblet in my pot, not a bubble. Evidently autocorrect doesn't know what a bulblet is, but I'm sure you figured that out. I have another amaryllis with a different color flower that's working on a flower stalk as well. I'd get more, but they take up a lot of room and I've only got so many windows.

The prediction here is for no rain for the next 8 days. I hope that's true because our daughter is about to loose her mind with her 2 little ones at home. They're too young to get involved with a project for more than a couple minutes. Brian is flying so she's home alone with them 24/7.

Hola ..

Spent about an hour on the horn with Aunt Anita yesterday .. I talked about how things were very gently with her, she put the kibosh on my trip herself and seemed self-satisfied that it was her idea .. Win ..

Also spoke with my Cousin Daniel, the NYPD officer .. he's back in a patrol car now, having had a desk job for the last 5 years .. it's tough on him, but he's slated to retire in August, so he just wants to hold out till then ..

The trend toward State's requiring a quarantine if entering from a different State is disconcerting and onerous, IMO .. perhaps necessary, I don't know .. what's the point .. ?? I'd just turn around and go home ..

First of the season yard mow yesterday .. mower cranked right up .. I got some Vitamin D .. yard is still super wet, but the grass ain't gonna stop growin' .. it would just be worse if I waited to do it ..

Have any of you seen the latest crop of new vehicle ads .. ?? "We're here to help, we're all in this together .. 84 months financing and 4 months no payments .." as the announcer drones on about safety, buy your vehicle on line, have it delivered .. etc ..

People are cooped up, folks are laid off left and right, some don't know when the next food money will be available .. yet, hey, let's buy a new vehicle .. really .. ??

The car companies should be ashamed ..

My DH's mother is 96, in an assisted living facility. Her mind is about gone. She knows us all, she just can't remember anything for more than 5 seconds. We can't visit her, but today stopped by with my homemade chopped liver that she loves (her mother's recipe - I am the only one who spent time in the kitchen with GiGi and learned her secrets for this), some soda, baked goods, and misc food. DH left it at the front desk - strict no visitors. When he called later to make sure she got everything, she said she only got the chopped liver and crackers (they were in 1 bag, we left 3 bags and the front desk person labeled each bag, which we will do from now on). DH said check your fridge - sure enough, there was everything else. "If people don't tell me they are leaving things, I don't know", "No Mom, we tell you but you don't remember. You have to get up and look in the fridge."

Bottom line, we are almost glad we can't visit her. If something happened after a visit, we wouldn't be able to live with ourselves.

On a more cheery vein, this one I can post because it is clean and awesome!

AND - The best thing is "You" can arrange to have a one-on-one personal call or a whole group of Friends or Family Can . . . AND - Even see them in Real Time . . . Almost forgot to share this with you. Yesterday we were going stir crazy so we ordered take-out from our favorite restaurant. While we were parked waiting I noticed the driver in the car next to us was vaping. So I opened the window and said “hello vaper”. We struck up a conversation. She’s been vaping for 5 years but has never heard about ECF, didn’t know you can make your own juice and been spending about $30/month buying it. Now she knows about the first two and plans to make juice after I told her how much it costs me for juice per month (under $1)!!!

All Posts I have made in the last few weeks have been made while wearing latex gloves, I swab the keyboard down regularly, and, I am wearing an N95 mask .. (just so you know, I have a few N95 masks, however, they have been in the 'bunker' now for at least 12 years I think .. they do have a bit of a funky smell .. otherwise, I would have donated them ..)
