Our kids and their kids may have already been in house lock down too long. I won't 'out' the parent who said this ... but it's a snippet from a text thread we're all on through out the day.

If there was a safe and healthy way to make our kids drunk it would make this time at home much more entertaining. Imagine our kids playing together...all drunkards.

Our idiot governor has now excluded religious gatherings from the “closed” order. Never mind that approximately 1/4-1/3 of confirmed cases have been centered around churches.

Even the Pope has cancelled public masses ... WTH's wrong with your governor. The liturgies will still take place by the priests but no public participation except via streaming services many churches are providing.

Sewed two masks today for hubby. None for me because being high ridk I don’t go to stores.
View attachment 878229
Might as well be fashionable if we have to wear them :)

What a GREAT Colorful mask . . . I would ask Ya' to make "Me" one, however I am extremely allergic - to any and all felines . . .
MilkyRapidBrocketdeer-max-1mb.gif

OPPS - "MY BAD" - Should have had a tissue or at least used the "crook" of "My" Arm . . .

That's totally pitiful. Is it even legal?

Well - Long story short - YES & NO . . . First, as far as I know - unless someone is place on Quarantine by the Health Department - Managment here really can't do anything about forcing any tenant to stay in their apartment or from leaving their apartment. Other then that - It really depends on the Government Regulations/Orders, especially since most of them are just "Federal and Local guidance" for now. Also, as far as I know, according to Landlord Tenant Law, you can have as many visitor/s Ya' want as long as there is no disturbance or interference with Neighbors. NOR - Can Ya' be evicted for having visitor/s. More importantly, they would have to take Ya' to Landlord/Tenant court before they can evict a tenant - so there is that. The only deference is since this is a Senor Apartment Complex that is Government Subsidized (section 8) - besides Management "House Rules" - there are HUD's "Tenant Rights and Regulations", that all tenants have to adhere to. Such as - Tenants cannot have any visitor/s staying in their apartments (even Family) for over 14 days without them being on the lease. As for the other "Stuff", since they are "Management", they can close community building/Laundry rooms/Pool (which I don't think has happened yet)/Public areas on Property or take away their property at any time, especially when Tenants are given 24 hours notice.

BTW, I like a woman in a burka .. kind of mysteriously sexy and really accentuates the eyes .. :):eek: ..

Ah - I wonder if he is going to go any of the religious gatherings with his family . . . Would be very interesting . . . Just Sayin' . . .

WTH's wrong with your governor.

Well according to Trump - he's his friend and doing exactly what needs to be done . . . :censored:

Good morning. It's a dreary looking day today, but at least it's not too cold outside.

Around here - It seems all the places where people live, Apartment complexes, Condo/Condominiums/Over 55 Communities, especially in any Senior Housing the Management/Boards/Community Security are becoming the "Gestapo" (even more so now). The Management where I live have sent out the following notices over the past few weeks (editing/paraphrasing) :

1) All Tenants will be required to "Stay At Home" as per the restrictions set Locally, State, and Federal regulations. Limit any visitors, including family / friends. Also included was 15 Day stay at home pamphlet from Federal Government

2) Community Room will be closed, all activities Cancelled, including those receiving "Meals-on-wheels" (must make arrangements to have the meal delivered to your apartments). Changed 2 days later - Community doors will only be open so that people can still "Load" their Landry Cards as long as there is one person there at a time.

3) Management Office will be close - Phone calls only or an appointment; No Maintenance Services unless there is an emergency (only the office will determine if it is an emergency or not); No Exterminator Services - again only if apartment is invested and can be proven; All Quarterly & Yearly Inspections cancelled until further notice. (Yes - Every 3 months they come in to inspect apartment - whether you are there or not - to make sure your following 20 pg "House Rules".)

4) All Rents are still due by the 5th of the Month as stipulated in lease. Must place in "Mail slot" in side door. Failure to do so will result in a lease violation and appropriate actions will be taken. No Cash will be accept - nor receipts given. However, No rents will be accepted before the 1st, since the new floors in the offices are being installed. (They even Taped over the mail slot, until the 31st.)

5) All Laundry Rooms (3) are only available from 7 AM to 5 PM Mon - Fri. They will be closed Sat & Sun. They will be cleaned and sanitized during the day. NO more then one person at a time.

6) No Congregating at Mail boxes, especially when mail is being delivered - Nor at any street side "Benches" (Especially Any Smokers/People who Vape - neither are allowed in apt/property). Everyone must maintain 6' "Social Distancing" or benches will be removed.

And - last but not the least, nor probably the last notice we'll get either:

7) As a Reminder - Management is "asking that you follow both Federal and Local guidance and limit any visitors to the community and your apartment . . . except for essential services . . . Visitors are not permitted to enter building for the foreseeable future . . . nor visit until further notice. "We" encourage you to use electronic or virtual communication." (Most of the people here, don't have access or even use the necessary electronics to communicate with people.) Also included was a notice of the Governors Executive Order which went into effect at 12:01 Friday April 3rd (Today) . . . Under this order - "All senior citizens and individuals with a "significant underlying medical condition - must remain at home." . . . "Failure to adhere to this request will result in a lease violation for you as the resident."
Well that's a conundrum - no visitors/no family members/no friends - not that I would have one visiting "Me" . . . ;)

What do Ya' mean I can't go out, even for necessities or to see doctors. Lease Violation - REALLY ? ? ? Well even though I meet the criteria and check all the boxes (Heart Disease, Diabetic, COPD, Asthma, over 65) . . . Come on Lease Violation . . . I already don't go out as it is, unless it is for necessities (including medications) and to see "My" Doctors . . . Matter of fact, I have an appointment with new doctor on Tuesday concerning "My" diabetes (which is still not under control, since I just started insulin) that I must see . . . AND - "My" Pulmonologist too right after . . . Just Sayin' . . .

AND - While most of this reasonable, they are really stepping up confronting people on property and tenants. Worse I can't tell Ya' what it is like around here in the complex. Most of the people here live alone (like "Myself") and having to isolate even more now then they already have - If Ya' could see the faces of the people going to get their mail and/or garbage bins . . . NOT GOOD ! ! !

.

What's next, welding your doors shut? I hope nobody falls or dies in there, nobody would know until this quarantine is over.

Our postsl service at its finest: On 3/26 an order I placed the day before shipped from Hollywood, FL about 4 hours south of us. Tracking showed me that 4 days later it arrived at the Jax PO, about an hour north of here. The next day it went home…back to the company that shipped it. On 3/30 it left again and a couple of stops it arrived back in Jax! I guess that wasn’t enough traveling so off it went to Birmingham, AL on 4/3. From there it went to Montgomery, AL…at least traveling the right direction…and arrived back in Jax yesterday and at my PO this morning. As of the latest text I received it’s out for delivery. We’ll see.

You're lucky .. I was just on the edge of a semi-snarky post or PM in regards to your attendance lately .. .. just a taste :: Well, I guess Sandra's just hangin' out with her hoity toity Artsy crew and has no time for us plebeians around these parts .. etc .. you get the picture ..

Nope....not hanging out anywhere....just spending a lot of time sleeping and trying to hide from all the chaos... Between the hoity toity persons who consider themselves "real" artists and the bored housewives who have husbands with deep pockets to support their frivolous attempts...I don't fit in there very well...;) I don't interact, just try to glean any helpful info as to technique and methods used. I have 4 or 5 WIP that I haven't touched for the last two weeks....just can't seem to force myself to the easel... Been binging on Netflix, etc. instead...

On another note...daughter knows I can't hold a needle anymore and sent me this yesterday...

mask.mp4

I've got a couple bandanas that I used to roll up, and tie around my head as sweat bands when I worked in my garden....don't know why I hung onto them...:D One could use any square of tightly woven cotton cloth and rubber bands if you don't have the ponytail elastics...;)

How frustrating! Wonder why it went back in the first place. Do you have an odd address? It's nice these days that we can track our mail. I get a notice everyday about what's to be delivered. Fortunately I may get a piece of my neighbors mail once in awhile, but generally our service has been pretty good.

Janet no odd address. Just number, street and zip. I get packages all the time from USPS, UPS and FedEx because I do most of my shopping online. Never had this hsppen before but I’ve heard it happen to others.

That bandana mask is great! I was getting ready to try and bribe Bea into making me 2 masks for my 89 year old parents but I sent my parents the video instead. If they can't find bandanas I think I might have 2 extra to make this type of mask for them. Thanks!

Hola .. :)

I guess my burka suggestion fell flat .. oh, well .. I would still urge you Fine Young Ladies to consider a burka .. :) .. I'm also all in for Turbans ..

A guilty pleasure that I will admit to is being a 'Survivor' fan since Season One .. it's the only Reality Show I watch, (well, I tried 'Naked and Afraid' for a while) ..

For a time, I collected the 'Survivor' buffs (the multi-use fabric tube given to Tribe Members) .. I dug them out yesterday and threw them in the warsher ..

Now, I'm prepared and will have absolutely no qualms about folks commenting on the buff I am wearing in Public .. "Hey, that dudes got a 'Survivor' buff on .." .. to which I will reply .. "Yeah, don't you remember the Season I was on .. ??" .. o_O

They are truly a multifunction piece of head gear ::  .. or even a skirt ..

LOL....I seriously threatened to buy a burka to wear when we all met up in Florida....to avoid having unwanted photos being taken...;) I'd be afraid to wear one out in public now.....might protect against the virus, but considering the attitudes of many....not any protection from being shot!!
