Good afternoon/morning all. I admit that I am a bit of a YouTube junkie. Last night I ran across videos by a guy that goes by the name of "The Mink Man". He has trained minks and dogs to seek out and kill rats. Yes, you read that right, minks that are rat killers. He goes out to area ranches and farms and helps control the rat populations.

I hope everyone has a good day. Oh, thanks to Willie for finding out about Sandra.

Morin' . . . :) Way -To- Early . . . Brain not working as well as I like either . . . :?:

ANYWAY - Even with that said . . .

Okay - Really do not want to interfere - nor invade anyone's personal life . . . However - Maybe it's time for a "Wellness Check" . . . . Anyone really close to "Sandra" and knows where she lives in PA . . . @yiddleboge6 told me once what area a long time ago, but I can't remember exactly - I think it is outside Philadelphia - like Bryn Mawr or Westchester - Redding (?) . . . Or if Ya' have her phone number "We" could use that to find where she lives too . . . If so, there are a couple of things can be done - ask some who lives in the area to go check on her (the are a couple people here on ECF & I have a few friends in Philly that may help) - or call the local Police Department (which would probably be the best choice) to request a "Wellness Check":

Wellness check

A welfare check, also known as a wellness check, is when police stop by a person's home to make sure they are okay. Requests for welfare checks are made by friends, family, and neighbors, typically after someone unexpectedly stops answer their phone or getting in touch with others.

Which given this situation and Covid-19 would definitely classify as being reasonable, especially given what we know about her.

BTW: I actually had this happen to"Me" a couple of times back in the day when I was very depressed and not talking to anyone and also had to have it done when I got concerned about few friends who were sick and a Friends Aunt down here in Florida too . . .

Just a thought. . .

.

I would say that Mike and Janet may have the info, Kay may have it as well .. not a bad idea .. I don't know, I'm never for invasion of anyone's privacy, however, it seems odd to me that she's not responding .. may just be taking a break from the World .. I've done that myself .. however, she does live alone and I don't know how close she is to her neighbors ..

Since she's not responding to Kay, that makes it even more odd ..

OK .. Sandra's alright .. she says to "call off the hounds .." :)

Well shucks (or maybe not) .... I just FB msg'ed Sandra's granddaughter and daughter explaining that her ecig forum friends are concerned about her since we haven't heard from her in so long. oops! After seeing @Uncle Willie post, perhaps I shouldn't have done that. Oh well too late.

Sandy's G-daugther said she spoke with Sandy yesterday and everything is 'just fine'. So we'll just have to be patient and wait 'till she decides to drop in here again. Then I'll virtual hug her followed up with a smack up the side of the head for making us all worry about her.

Guys I'm sure she’ll be very touched we all worried about her since it’s so out of character for her to be away for so many days. I think all of us here are very fortunate to have such a caring group of friends to worry about us.

Which brings something else to mind. Gary and I have no family here and all our close friends are up north. If this situation involved me you all would have no one close by who could check on me aside from the police. I’m FB friends with Cathy and Gracie but both live hours from here. I’m thinking it would be a good idea to give my one close friend’s phone number to one of them for “just-in-case”. She even has a key to my house so in case something happened to both of us she could take care of my kitties.

Perhaps it would be a good idea for any one else here who lives alone to do the same thing. After all some of us are fairly old and/or have serious health issues.

    Hola .. :)

I've watched 'Homeland' since Season One, just finished the final episode a few days ago .. Carrie and the Gang are great stuff ..
I just can’t believe Carrie would seriously consider having Saul killed.

A couple more bloomers in the greenhouse. The magenta one is a miniature, only about 6” tall. Sorry the second one is blurry.

I admit the lack of hand protection concerned me, especially when he got bit by a rat in one of the videos. The others YouTubers I watch are about flat earthers. Always good for a laugh.

I have shared some of my contact info with a couple of other members and would be willing to share my daughter's phone number if someone wanted to get a contact list together.
Oh, I do have a big pot of veggie soup simmering on the stove and will put a batch of cornbread in the over when Syndee lets me know she is on the way home. Dang, it sure smells good.

Those are beautiful! But where are the roots for the blooms in the second picture? It seems like they are all bloom but they have to have roots. Don't they?

Edit: I think I figured it out. The blooms are coming out of the vine I mistook for a wire. Duh! Sowwy.

    Good evening! :)

Wow! Busy day on the thread today! Very glad to know Sandy is A-OK!

It's unusual for me to post at night but am wide awake so will probably get some reading done and check Facebook to see what's up there.

Anyway, hope you all are well and not too bored!

@Bea-FL As usual, your orchids are beautiful!

Good morning. Was up at 5:00 for some reason. As it started to lighten up outside 6 deer strolled out from the trees and they started romping around the yard. They're probably excited that the rain finally stopped and it's going up to 70 today with sunshine!

Guess I'll make some juice today and then spend some time out in the flowerbeds getting the weeds under control before they take over. I've got a couple plants that need to be planted and just got a notice that more are coming. The problem is, when I order plants during the winter I order too much and then forget where I wanted to plant them.

Thanks Willie. I did the pairing a long time ago. Not solving this issue. I guess I'll live with it. Thanks for trying to help.

For right now we are binge watching Homeland on Showtime Anytime. We just watched the first two episodes last night so we have the rest of the first season plus 7 more to watch. Apparently yesterday was the last episode of the series. Anyone watch this show?

We watched 6 seasons and were just waiting for the last one to be over so we could watch it when we wanted rather than have to wait a week between shows. It's nice to watch 2 shows at a time.

Beautiful! The magenta one looks like it's so excited it's Spring that it's sending out fireworks.

Oh, forgot to mention - the hummingbirds are back! Had to hurry up and get some nectar made. One of them was flitting around exactly where the 2 feeders are usually hanging. Don't know where she's been, but she certainly remembers where the food used to be.

Actually this genus of orchid creates a 2’ flower spike. My photo just showed a few flowers on that spike. The roots just hang below because these types of orchids called vandaceous, prefer for their roots to hang free below. This photo is not of my plant. I used it to demonstrate.

With time the mass of roots can become massive as you can see from the photo below of one of my older plants.
