Hola ..
I drove across the Mississippi yesterday evening and went to St Charles, MO .. where there is a particular Mexican eatery I like .. they had opened with limited indoor seating .. granted, it was a Thursday, yet myself and one other couple were the only folks in the place at around 7:00 PM .. it was somewhat eerie feeling, with tables removed and booths taped off to allow for the minimum 6' distance ..
I did it probably because I could and it's near impossible to get Mexican takeout that's worth eating by the time you get home .. my local joint had given up on takeout .. so, Taco Bell or Taco John's is about it .. (both of which I think are OK for what they are ..)
I guess I was expecting some sort of out the door line, as I had been reading about States that were tip toeing with re-opening and spots had experienced a real crush of business .. (well, maybe not a crush, since how crushing can it be when you're only allowed maybe 25% occupancy) ..
My waitress was masked, and although I tried to engage her in some banter, which is my general way, she was less than receptive ..
There was a steady flow of takeout folks picking up orders, but no one else came in to take a table or booth while I was there .. a meal and a couple of margaritas later, I just did not get that feeling of "All right, Willie, sit down meal, being served, lock-down broken, cheers .." ..
Now, keep in mind, this is Missouri, so, the general populace is somewhat belligerent and I know had to be chafing while the full-on lock-down was on .. yet, it appeared that folks were still reluctant to take advantage of their new found freedom ..
I guess it's baby steps for a while ..
That $1.40 a gallon gas, though, was a bonus ..
