The only problem with getting this done is crawling around all over the garden and getting up and down.
Um, I find the getting down part is still pretty easy.

Oh, that Night Sky petunia is gorgeous! Laura from Proven Winners highlighted that the other day in one of her videos.Good morning. It's a lovely morning here, just a bit breezy, but the sun is shining off and on through the clouds.
One of the plants I potted up is a Night Sky Petunia. I like petunias, but don't like handling them because they're sticky, but this flower is just so cool!

Yesterday I got the weeds pretty much hoed off the garden (since it's not getting tilled this year). Then I laid down landscape fabric and got 4 tomato plants in. Today I'd like to get the onion sets in (I know it's way late) and the rest of the veggies. This fabric didn't look like it was letting the water seep through. Looks like I got the spun one instead of the woven one so guess I'll be poking some holes all over. At least the sun beating down on that black cloth should kill any weeds trying to come up. Later I'll fold some of the edges back to make sure water gets in. The only problem with getting this done is crawling around all over the garden and getting up and down. These old bones are not too happy about it, but at least it's exercise and I'll have a beautiful garden when it's done.
That petunia is so beautiful. We can grow petunias in FL, in fact when we have a mild winter they make it through just fine. I need to see if I can find this one.Good morning. It's a lovely morning here, just a bit breezy, but the sun is shining off and on through the clouds.

Hola ..
Testify .... the yard's just been too wet to mow, it's getting pretty shaggy looking .. so, Sunday, I spent the bulk of the day scrubbing off the dirt buildup on the deck from over the Winter .. then, hauled out the deck plants ..
It just gets me, I stained that deck last year with a good quality Olympic stain, and just a year later, there is a case to be made for staining it again .. sheesh .. $40 bucks a gallon and can't hardly last a full year ..![]()
Just let things grow/do what comes naturally in the wild. No more backbreaking work!I love my property but sometimes I think about moving to a condo and letting someone else do all the work.

We had our deck repaired and painted last year. They used pair from Sherwin Williams and it still looks lovely this Spring. We'll see how it lasts - supposed to last 5 years.
That's what she said... or so I've heardsome woods do benefit from being hidden![]()
Did you put a sealer on top of the stain? That can help.
Hi all!
It's a nice afternoon here, 71deg, sunny, with a slight breeze. Today's walk with the DH took us through downtown where I noticed a sign in a store window and laughed. The sign said 'Stringed Instruments for Sale or Rent' and I automatically followed it up with 'Rooms to let for fifty cents'. The husband gave me one of those looks like I was nuts. Hopefully someone here will appreciate the association. I had King of the Road as an ear worm for the rest of our walk.
I suppose there may be some sealer that might work .. when I built this deck, some 15 years ago now, I stained and then sealed .. about 4 years later, it was ready for new stain .. I had a devil of a time with a power washer getting the old sealant off in order for the wood to fully accept the new stain ..
We've given up on our gardens. We finally had to admit that with the disabilities we have it's too much for us to handle. We're lucky if we mow the yard once a month. Not near often enough but the most we can handle.
