Good morning everyone! The sun is brightly shining..and so am I! it's taken about two months at least since I've felt this way, tho.

I had a full, productive day yesterday, but the best part was my Dr.s visit.I went in there with a full list of complaints and read all of them off to him. He finally actually listened ( tho he didn't have much choice cuz i just ran my mouth till i was done).
I told him that I was sick of being so sick and all the meds he had me on were useless and I'm sicker now cuz now i'm spitting up gobs of phlegm along with sleepless nights cuz when I try to sleep in a flat position my chest feels heavy and i can't breath, so i have to go try to sleep in my recliner. And i told him that i wanted a heavy-duty antibiotic shot in my .... to kickstart my health because food doesn't appeal to me and I've lost at least 15 lbs. ( which they verified, but it's nineteen lbs.) and I'm weak and tired all the time....not to mention damn grumpy and anti-social!
I got my way:D
He also drew blood( two vials) and gave me three different meds and told me that he wanted me to see the cardiologist again for one of those tests where the put a needle ( catheter?) in my inner thigh and draw blood, which this "specialist" didn't do the first time i saw him.

I do believe that shot did it's job cause I'm feeling more chipper all ready! Yay!!!!

And i finished off the day by having a steak dinner...but could only eat the salad and had to have the rest boxed. But that's all right...I'll have it for dinner tonight!

Now I'm off n running.. got a couple of things to do before I return the rental.

Y'll have a good day!
Glad you feel better. And hooray for you standimg up for yourself. We got to make those docs LISTEN!!! Yes, mam!!!

I have a recliner question. I know some of you have one and I'm about to the point where I need one so I can sleep in it when my bones start hurting the way they so often do anymore.

I've done some research and I see they come manual…the lever on the side…or electric. I don't need anything fancy. It doesn't need to massage me or heat my ...., but I want to be able to lower it as much or as little as I want. I'd like to hear your opinions please.

I've had a number of recliners over the years, but have never seen one with an infinite number of reclining positions. Whether a lever on the side, or simply 'push back' there's usually just 3 or 4 different degrees of recline. That's not to say there may not be an electric one out there that does offer more, but would most likely be at a price point that would equal a bed that does much the same...;) I have slept in a recliner and....no matter how soft, wide and comfortable when you fall asleep....being locked into just one position becomes uncomfortable, especially if you're experiencing pain in your hips. I still long for my water bed....the most comfortable bed of any I ever had and didn't put any pressure on those joints that hurt...

La-Z-Boy .. ;) ..

Although a bit pricey, they last and last .. having been a Recliner aficionado now for many, many years, I have never found a one by any other company that allows their reclining flexibility .. :)

The biggest problem I've always had with recliners is getting up. They don't have to lift me up. They just need to close easily enough that they don't get in the way of me getting myself up.
I'll second Willie's recommendation....La-Z-Boy...;) That was the best, and easiest of all that I've had in my home....regardless of price. :) Yes....I have been subjected to one that cost a lot more....hated that monster...

My sister bought me a La-Z-Boy back when I had multiple fractures of the pelvis. I loved it, but the massaging function was pure torture and I was in no condition to upend it and disconnect it. My only other quibble was that going from recline to upright was almost excruciatingly slow. Between that and working with a walker, I simply couldn't get to the phone before it went to message. Similar problem with people knocking on the door.

I never had one that was lever operated, so can't make a comparison.

Bea...I'm thinking a reclinable bed.... even if it's just a single, at least you can have different positions...just a thought...

Here's one place to perhaps check out...

Personally, I'm partial to this one...

I love peanut butter :)
Do you also sometimes just take the lid off and spoon it straight into your mouth? I do!
Oh yes I sure do !
I'll get the large spoon, load it up and treat it like a sucker !
I use a small spoon. But, I may load it up a few times.

I like 'Simply Jif', the healthiest peanut butter I've found. Otherwise, with diabetes, I wouldn't be allowed hardly any peanut butter at all. After using my p.b. for a few years, when I took a bite of the kids' p.b., it tasted salty and like it had syrup mixed in.

That would be much better. Besides my bedroom is basically my own apartment. No room for a bed AND a recliner.

As soon as I get rich.

Really. I use either Smucker's or Laura Scudder which is made by Smucker's. The ingredient list is short: peanuts, salt. I do not pay extra for the organic version of either. Their only problem is that the oil separates and the stuff needs to be well mixed.

I might take a look at Simply Jif.

Our daughter got an electric couch that reclines. Mike liked it so much we ended up getting one when a furniture store closed near us. The button on the side raises and lowers it pretty quickly wherever we want and it lays pretty flat when it's all the way reclined. it's been very helpful when my knees are acting up. It's pricier due to the motor, but we're pretty pleased with it. I think you have to try them out and see for yourself what will work. Yiddle makes a good point about a bed that can change position or you can try either the Tempurpedic or waterbed that should help be comfortable enough that you won't need to switch to a recliner. We stayed at the Mariott in D.C. once and swear their bed was the most comfortable ever. It felt like a Tempurpedic with a pillow top. When I hit the lottery I'm going to get one of those!!!

I use a tablespoon and get a big old mound of pb on it and just sit and eat it. Yummm!

That's fantastic! Yay for the hubby!!
