Really. I use either Smucker's or Laura Scudder which is made by Smucker's. The ingredient list is short: peanuts, salt. I do not pay extra for the organic version of either. Their only problem is that the oil separates and the stuff needs to be well mixed.

I might take a look at Simply Jif.

Don't bother. Yours is healthier. Unless, of course, you're just looking for something different.

Smuckers Natural, huh? I'll take a look. The last 'natural' one I was buying was less healthy than Simply Jif. Maybe we'll get even healthier now.

Wait a minute! They changed it. It absolutely did not have hydrogenated oil in it when I first started using it. That was the main reason I had gone to 'natural'.

Well hubs felt pretty good first thing this morning which is a good sign. Felt not so great as the day went on but he insisted on getting something done on his plowtruck that's sitting apart in the garage. He did work on it for a couple hours but lacking in strength and energy,he insisted on having some solid food for supper. Just some mushrooms and low fat cottage cheese with jello for dessert. So far so good.Feeling half way decent tonight.

Does he like soups? If he does here is one of several I make for myself. It packs 4 grams protein per cap, and is quite thick and satisfying but because it is pureed is easy to swallow and digest.

3 cups cooked pumpkin
1.5 cups cooked sweet potatoes
1/4 cup dry milk powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup carrots cooked
Salt to taste

I put the whole thing in the blender and puree it. For extra protein you can add 4 oz tofu. Tofu has no taste. It takes on the taste of other foods and in this soup you cannot taste it or see it after it's pureed. Sometimes I add a little cinnamon in. Enjoy!!!

@DancingHeretik maybe Smuckers makes two versions. These companies change things around a lot. Years ago when I was diagnosed with high blood pressure I got in the habit of reading labels for ingredients every time I bought something because labels seem to change so much.

Smuckers is the one I plan to try next.

I guess I do need to keep reading those labels every single time!

Just a recliner. We looked at lift beds but they are soooo expensive.

I've had a number of recliners over the years, but have never seen one with an infinite number of reclining positions. Whether a lever on the side, or simply 'push back' there's usually just 3 or 4 different degrees of recline. That's not to say there may not be an electric one out there that does offer more, but would most likely be at a price point that would equal a bed that does much the same... I have slept in a recliner and....no matter how soft, wide and comfortable when you fall asleep....being locked into just one position becomes uncomfortable, especially if you're experiencing pain in your hips. I still long for my water bed....the most comfortable bed of any I ever had and didn't put any pressure on those joints that hurt...

3-4 settings sound just fine. But I really like your comment about water beds. I like that idea. Will look into it.

Oh dah you're right. For some stupid reason I was thinking Smuckers when you clearly said Jif .

Jif is a Smuckers brand but of course we don't necessarily pay attention. It's so hard to keep track isn't it because most of the time who cares! Big companies buy other big companies…make more millions. One day I was looking up M&Ms company for some reason…wow! It owns so many well known brands…Eukanuba/Iams, Wrigley gum, Dove chocolate, Banfield pet hospitals, Pedigree dog food and more.

But the part that bothers me most about all these companies is how much outsourcing they do by moving their plants to other countries.

And I better not get started about outsourcing…my post would be unending

Little did I know that Jerry Garcia and David Grisman put out a CD for kids, so they could grow up listening to something besides Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and 3 Blind Mice. So, I bought a couple for the Grandkids for Christmas. Oh my, it's titled right ... "Not For Kids - Only". After ripping it to iTunes and listening to it ... I added it to my main playlist too.

(Bias Alert: I'm a bit fan of Shady Grove and Almost Acoustic albums by Garcia and Grisman.)
