Good morning.

@LovesButtercups How is your back doing? I was just saying I haven't had a problem with my back in a long time. BIG MISTAKE! Yep, my back is giving me fits. Time to get out the TENS.

@WhiteHighlights Congratulations on the new machines. The new ones seem to be much more efficient. I have a steam setting on mine which comes in very handy when I go to throw washed clothes into the dryer and find that I never took out the last load. Wrinkle city. 10 minutes in the steam setting and they come out wrinkle free! I miss my washer and dryer.

Yesterday Kate and I went to Marshall's and bought a boat load of the cutest cloth Christmas gnomes. All different sizes. Looks like we could open a store in here, but the smaller ones will be given as gifts so they're not all staying. I figure we're just fostering them for now.

After we got home yesterday I made cut out cookies so the boys will be doing some decorating later. That'll keep them off the iPads for awhile. Yesterday they made gingerbread houses and that was fun.

We're keeping the youngest grandson home from school today because he still had ........ yesterday but was ok through the night. His fever is gone. Seems to have gone through both boys, but it finally looks like everyone is healthy. At least I hope so.

After we got home from the store yesterday I took a nap and slept for an hour! Of course I ended up waking up at 3:45 this morning! Oh well, I came downstairs and finished up our Christmas letter. Mike can put on some fancy borders and I can get them emailed out later today. Yes! Another item to cross off the To Do List.

Morning, all.

So far the snow is staying both north and east of us, and we don't have a problem with that :) Still chatter about the next few days not getting over freezing, so that could change. By dawn...

You are not going to believe how long it took me to get the joke.

Uh, sure you belong int this thread if you don't remember rabbit ears? ;) Yeah, sometimes it's a "double take" sort of funny :)

Morning, all.

Snow is staying away from us, for now. Actually got warmer here as the night progressed, but apparently pretty much the opposite just a few miles north and east. That may change later today, if the guess is right. (And they actually did get it right, as the "future-cast" maps did show the snow not falling here!)

Oh joy! Brian will be driving back from Connecticut on the 23rd, the yuckiest day in our forecast.

Hola .. :(

I gotta tell you Mike, with the 22nd and rain, the 23rd rain to snow and a huge temp drop, if he can avoid that, sometimes it's better to er on the side of caution .. looks to me like a combo for some particularly treacherous conditions ..

Totally agree. The thing is he's a pilot so his flight might not even make it to CT. He's away so much and this is his last flight with this company. I'm praying he'll make it home for Christmas. If he makes it to his car I'll feel better. He's from Colorado so he definitely knows how to drive in bad weather.

Morning, all.

The bitter cold they guessed at didn't happen here, and no complaints! Rather than the low 20s, we only went down to 33 overnight (uh, from a high of 36?), but that could change by dawn...

Hope he can actually get the plane to his car! Yeah, the weather is messing with a lot of air travel.

Morning folks, big day ahead of me (NOT). A trip to a UPS store to return an Amazon purchase and a trip to the Post Office to mail in a years worth of invoices to Medicare for payment. One of my doctors just won't deal with medicare because of how long it takes to get the claim processed. So I just do it once a year, makes for a bigger refund 'check'.

hey! where'd the smilies go? I can toggle BB code on and off but I don't see the smilies icon.

We're up to 34 already this morning - still to cold for my liking. The older I get the less I like the cold so I can't imagine what it's like for folks experiencing the below 0 temps! People like our SIL, Brian, love the cold weather, but I think there's something wrong with his genes!

The boys are delivered to their schools and the kitchen is cleaned up. Now to shower and make the Kiffel dough. That's the last baking I'm doing for Christmas. Still have to get wrapping done, but we're in good shape - I think.

Hola .. :)

It's not him I'd worry about .. unfortunately, he won't have the road to himself and combined with the weather and likely heavy traffic, it's not gonna be a cakewalk ..

Well, the countdown is on .. I went to Lowes this AM to beef up my ice melt salt stash .. no body to help me shlepp the 50 LBS bag in the truck handy because the place was a madhouse .. 1 actual human cashier and the rest self-serve ..

Then, I went by Kroger to get me a charcuterie board and it was even worse .. left in total disgust ..

Unless you "toggle width" (drop down to the right of your name, top right on the page), it's in the drop down to the right of the "insert image" icon in the composition pane. Yeah, hiding...
