just an FYI, but when you post FB video's this pops up in the middle of the video. If I click 'don't allow' the video stops. (no way I'm clicking allow). My alternative is to listen to the video with that message box covering most of the video.

Unless you "toggle width" (drop down to the right of your name, top right on the page), it's in the drop down to the right of the "insert image" icon in the composition pane. Yeah, hiding...

Well that stinks. It squishes my view of posts just to get the smiley icon back. Actually I only had a "toggle side bar" nothing for "toggle width".

@LovesButtercups How is your back doing? I was just saying I haven't had a problem with my back in a long time. BIG MISTAKE! Yep, my back is giving me fits. Time to get out the TENS.


After we got home from the store yesterday I took a nap and slept for an hour! Of course I ended up waking up at 3:45 this morning! Oh well, I came downstairs and finished up our Christmas letter. Mike can put on some fancy borders and I can get them emailed out later today. Yes! Another item to cross off the To Do List.

My back is still pretty dang mad at me. My left arm is getting in on the action now, what a jerk! It hurts when I bend over and when I lay down. When I lay down, it eases the pain in my arm if I raise it over my head, but then of course my hand falls asleep. It’s all getting better I guess, but slowwwwwwly. If I were in my twenties, I could have slept it all away and felt like a million bucks the next morning…those days are long gone, I’m afraid!

It sounds like you’ve been pretty busy - nothing better than a well-deserved nap! I hope your back is feeling better, too. There’s NEVER a good time for a back ache, but it’s especially aggravating when there’s so much to do. Hopefully Santa brings us all a break from our various aches/pains/ailments, at least for a little while!

Well, the countdown is on .. I went to Lowes this AM to beef up my ice melt salt stash .. no body to help me shlepp the 50 LBS bag in the truck handy because the place was a madhouse .. 1 actual human cashier and the rest self-serve ..

Then, I went by Kroger to get me a charcuterie board and it was even worse .. left in total disgust ..

I get so aggravated with my local Kroger…there’s usually only one or two check out lanes open. The lines get so long that people have to line up down the aisles where I can’t get get to what I need! Most times, they don’t even have a cashier at the service desk at all. It’s nuts. I always feel sorry for the cashiers, because they look like they are barely hanging on. So many people complain at them, and I know they have to get tired of hearing it, especially since it’s not their fault. Half the time, they don’t even have a person bagging the groceries for them, so I end up bagging them myself. I actually don’t mind that, because then I can do it how I want. (I like my cold/frozen stuff bagged together, and produce together, etc.)

I can’t say that started with the pandemic, though…they were under-staffed LONG before Covid began, so the management just isn’t doing a proper job.

A trip to a UPS store to return an Amazon purchase

I used to just go down the street (I could walk) but they quit taking Amazon returns. Now I have to take them to Kohl's. I don't mind doing that at all because Kohl's gives me $5 off with every return and do you know that it is not difficult at all for me to find something I would like to purchase?

21 atm, and they think we might make it to 25... yesterday's high was at 1 AM... but still dry, for a few hours anyway.

I don't have the toggle width option. For me it's all or nothing when toggling the sidebar.

Solved! I actually had this issue way back when and a search 'toggle width' found my old answer. If I reduce the font size of my browser the toggle width becomes an option. But then the font size is too small for my liking. So it's ether a small font and toggle width is an option or a readable (for me) font size and no 'toggle width' option.

I use a computer and a browser not a phone or pad. As long as I keep the sidebar turned off, I get the smilie icon. But with the side bar on even clicking the 3 dots I don't get a smilie icon.

On my Mac's, using Safari, located in the lower left-hand corner of the browser window there is a button on every ECF page to toggle the width.

I saw you are using Safari in your previous post about playing FB videos.

FWIW, if you go into Safari settings, choose Privacy, then select "Prevent cross-site tracking", that setting will prevent Facebook (and other sites) from tracking you online. My iPhone, iPad and Mac's are all setup to prevent cross-site tracking. I was able to play the Roger Waters video without getting the message you got (your screenshot).

Apple implemented that change in 2018 with macOS Mojave.

My friend brought over pizza tonight and it was delicious! He also could not wait to give me my Christmas gift. You have to love a man that gives you a big box full of ammo. That is exactly what I would have asked for if I had sat on Santa's lap. I cannot wait to go shooting.

I think this is going to be the best Christmas I've had in a long, long time.

It is not really cold here yet (45 degrees right now) but something is blowing our way. The wind is crazy. I may have to go reinforce my wreath. They say with the wind chill, we are going to get to 8 below. NC has not seen temps like that since 1985. It's pretty invigorating.

I used to bring up ecf on Tapatalk. I put it on my phone when I came back on here (9 months, 29 days) but now I cannot find ecf on there. I brought it up on the phone browser and I cannot maneuver my way there and find my watched threads. I am starting to get nervous. I am going to the coast, to a place that does not have internet. I am not sure what I am going to do. Does anyone know if ECF is still on Tapatalk? How do y'all bring ECF stuff up on your phone? Just trying to figure this all out.

Good morning. Oh boy, Hux got a fever last night and I've got ........, but at least I don't feel sick. Evidently this fever/........ sickness is going around here, but I thought we were over it.

So far we've just had steady rain and gusty winds and it's 45 degrees right now. By dinner time it's going to be 11 degrees. Fortunately Brian's flight was only delayed 1 hour so he should be able to drive home before those low temps hit. Probably going to mean icy roads so it'll be good if he can get home by lunchtime.

Willie has the right idea about being prepared. I think Kays's wish for snow was pretty powerful because it sounds like a good portion of the country is going to have a while Christmas. Stay safe everyone!

Ok, what's the deal with ecf scrubbing the correct word for "the runs"? It's the latest sickness going around.

Well, the promised ice storm is so far - and here, don't know about 5 miles away! - not a big deal. Yet?

But no need to go any where, so as long as the power stays on, not a problem Being somewhat remote, we're usually well stocked, generator is always fueled and ready.

We might even get over freezing, by a degree or two.
