It is not really cold here yet (45 degrees right now) but something is blowing our way. The wind is crazy. I may have to go reinforce my wreath. They say with the wind chill, we are going to get to 8 below. NC has not seen temps like that since 1985. It's pretty invigorating.

it’s a balmy 1F outside right now, and the wind seems like it’s trying to settle down a bit. We have some bright sunshine, too - that’s good, we need all the heat we can get! My poor heat pump isn’t keeping up too well. It’s just not efficient for this kind of cold, so it’s a good thing we don’t have this too often. We have a small, indoors-safe propane heater going and that little thing really cranks the heat, so we’re staying warm. So far, no pipes appear to be frozen so I’m super happy about that. The cats are very unimpressed, and they are mad that I’m not playing the “make-up-your-mind-in-or-out” game today. It’s too dang cold to be opening and shutting the door a hundred times, especially since I know they will want right back in after about 30 seconds

I have some stuff to make for mom’s Christmas get-together tomorrow, and I have a couple gifts to wrap…the only other thing on my to-do list is stay warm. I hope you all are safe and warm, and having a good day

On my Mac's, using Safari, located in the lower left-hand corner of the browser window there is a button on every ECF page to toggle the width.

I saw you are using Safari in your previous post about playing FB videos.

FWIW, if you go into Safari settings, choose Privacy, then select "Prevent cross-site tracking", that setting will prevent Facebook (and other sites) from tracking you online. My iPhone, iPad and Mac's are all setup to prevent cross-site tracking. I was able to play the Roger Waters video without getting the message you got (your screenshot).

Apple implemented that change in 2018 with macOS Mojave.

Yep I'm using a MacBook still running Big Sur.

With or without the side bar toggled I only get this at the bottom left of my screen. No icon for 'width' like yours shows. It's all connected to my browser's font size setting. If I reduce it, then I get that width option shown in your screen shot.

And already had the tracking option set.

But thanks for trying to help. Regardless I'm not clicking anything that gives FB rights to 'watch me'.

Ditto .. in my case, I have a fully finished, dry basement with a Home Theater / Surround Sound System / a few guitars / desktop and laptop computer and a Pool Table, with a tiny kitchen and a toilet and a one year food supply .. it's on it's own, independent electric ceiling panel heat .. so, I just turn the panels on to what temp I want and an hour later, voila .. I also have a nice, inflatable queen size bed with it's own air pump and a spare set of linens/blankets down there .. although I did not utilize my Apocalypse Ready Space (ARS) last night, and it got down to -11o outside with a crazy windchill, I did get up and activate it this AM since we're in this for another couple days ..

What can I tell you, I was an Eagle Scout and I'm ex-Military .. (and, I do believe there may well be some sort of Apocalypse coming)

The dog and I are in fine shape .. and, as luck would have it, the truck cranked right up this morning ..

Tonight, I will likely inflate the bed or sleep on the couch in the basement ..

Our freezing rain finally stopped freezing, and a heat wave is coming. 33 was the temp most of yesterday, and up to 43 already.

Hope the rest of the country gets some relief, too!!

Wasn't that long ago we were complaining about being hot. We got up to 18 today, going down to 5 tonight. Just a little breezy, not like the wind we've been having thank goodness.

We ran to the grocery store for a few things. $300 later we got home and stuffed everything away. It's just the 4 of us tomorrow for Christmas dinner so I got some Porterhouse steaks to celebrate. We wanted filets, but at $30 lb for tiny little steaks that are going to shrink up when grilled I opted for 1/2 the price and 3 times the meat. Probably won't have steaks again until next year-maybe.

Kate is making cinnamon buns for breakfast tomorrow. Evidently that's what Brian grew up with for Christmas breakfast, but they weren't homemade. I'm sure these will be fantastic so I'm echoing little Brody about now. "I want to go to sleep so Santa can come!" I'm so glad we're here to share the excitement of Christmas with 2 adorable little grandsons.
