Hola .. :)

I felt like I was an 'American Picker' yesterday, minus Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz .. hit the road for about a 4 hour road trip, looking at acoustic guitars to buy and refurbish and then sell ..

Managed to score two 1960's Martin's and a 1970's Gibson for a great deal ..

The economy is hitting pocketbooks hard, in some cases, folks have to sell their toys .. I just don't see any reason why I should not take advantage .. yes, it sounds like a greed move, but if not me, then somebody else is going to do it ..

Of course, I have to carry cash money, and that can be a worry since you never know who you're dealing with .. but, I am packing heat, so there is that ..

True, and at least they have someone who'll treat 'em right!

Yeah, well .. I offer a fair cash price, based on what the instrument needs done .. so many people look their stuff up on line and think they are going to get the mint condition price ..

And, I would not do it if I could not make a few shekels ..

The hot dog/movie night turned out rather well if I say so myself. It is so much more enjoyable to watch movies at home. Or maybe it is just more comfortable.

Watched an older one. Open Range with Cosner and Duvall. It had been so long I had forgotten most of it so I enjoyed it again. I skipped the popcorn this time but I did have HotTamales. I love those things.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Morning, all.

Rain is back, unless it fails to warm up, in which case, despite the claim, it will be snow...

No doubt. Don't look at that bent neck, it's in perfect condition?

Good morning, Lizards -

I hope you all are having a nice weekend so far! Hubs worked yesterday, and volunteered to work again today. See, I told y’all I think he’s an alien! He’s getting double-time pay, so I guess I can see why he hated to pass it up, but the time off would do him good. He’s been working 12-hour shifts all week, and he sure is tired.

Talking about prescriptions…I don’t have any, except for the anti-inflammatory stuff I’m taking for the moment. Since my blood pressure was so high at the doc’s office, she has me monitoring it at home until my next visit in February. It’s not been nearly as high as it was that day, but it could stand to be lower. I dont know how much the pain/aggravation of this mess in my neck affects it, but it’s possible that I may have a prescription for BP meds in the near future.

I‘m off to scrounge up some breakfast, then get myself ready and off to the store. I hope you all have a good day!

Morning, misfits.

Well, we didn't turn to snow yesterday, but that might have been warmer... 36 degree drizzle most of the day. And then the nerve to warm up overnight.

Yeah, sometimes it's in the "make hay while the sun shines" category, or just "get it while you can."

Good morning. ANOTHER rainy day! Ugh! It would be nice to have some snow. They're calling for possibly some flakes to fall today for a bit, but it'll probably be like sleet. The boys sure could use some snow to play in, they've been stuck inside for so long.

Hey, at least you'll give them a fair price and that will be helping them out. And you'll be restoring the guitars so somebody is going to be happy to get it when you're finished. That's pretty special and a win-win in my book, for you, them and the guitars.

I have had one heck of a weekend. Believe me, it was productive and destructive about 50/50.

We will just say all my neighbor's leaves are mulch and dad's lawnmower canopy has a slight angle to it right now. I am still trying to figure out what to do about that. Dangling on the side of it using every ounce of my weight did not help but it probably gave a neighbor or two the giggles.

Hope everyone had a different weekend than I did. heehee Hope you all have a great week too. I am going to ease up on the "I am woman, hear me roar".

Well, there you are. I've missed this greeting! View attachment 988938 Where have you been? Are you doing okay?
I am fine. Busy and I forget to check in once in awhile. Trying to write some vape recipes this morning and I miss you in the Random mixing thread. You should stop in sometime.

Since my blood pressure was so high at the doc’s office,

    Hola .. :)

I have what might be termed 'Dr's Office Paranoia' .. when the nurse initially checks my BP, it's always stupid high .. like 175/115 .. she then makes me sit for 10 minutes and breath .. once my Feng Shui kicks in, it gets back down to about 125/75 .. which is good enough ..

I do, however, take two BP meds .. one since the heart attacks and one to somehow protect my liver, although I don't know how that works .. apparently, there are drugs used for other things than what they were initially designed for .. at least, that's what the DR says .. don't ask me .. but, I'm all for liver protection ..

It's good, I like it, it gives me more to do, I get out in the country on a drive with a purpose .. I get to meet new people .. and there is nothing more satisfying than bringing a piece back from the possible scrap heap of time .. an old, beat up guitar that needs a lot of love maintains the spirit of those that played it many years ago .. I have a great reverence for that ..

My main gripe is so many seem to think what they have is worth it's weight in gold ..

Oh, and I need to learn to use my phone GPS as the GPS in the truck dates from 2012 and roads have, I can attest, changed somewhat ..

I've heard it called "white coat syndrome", and it's apparently fairly common.

I finally got to sleep this morning at 4 and slept for a couple of hours. But I felt okay when I woke up. I did not feel like going to the gym though. I am still tired from the weekend.

Sometimes, when you start out, you don't know what a wonderful day you are going to have. Today was one of those days.

My friend Terry said he was going to come over and look at the lawnmower. I thought it was because he is buying a zero-turn but as it turned out, he came over and worked all afternoon fixing the canopy for me. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate him doing that. I tried to fix him supper or buy him anything but he said he was just glad he could help. I will find something nice to do for him.

It was a pure joy to watch someone else fix something and not have to do it. Every tool he asked for I was able to give it to him. I may not have known the name of it but I knew where it was when he described it.

I had on a shirt, a sweatshirt, and a jacket and I was about to freeze. Terry had on a long sleeve T-shirt and said only his hands got cold. (I noticed his ears were a little chilly too) He worked out in the weather for many years and must be used to it. I evidently am not.

I did not make it to the gym today or get my steps in but I am pretty sure I burned some calories shivering. I ended up having to get in the shower to get warm. Sheesh! I hope I am not coming down with something.

    Sleep well to everyone.

Thank you and maybe I will pop in sometime. I never got back into the mixing though. It was too tempting to read about all those flavors. I am just a plain o'l menthol kinda gal. Now I am so busy trying not to be busy that I don't have time to mix.

I am thinking about lowering my nic to 18mg. I have been vaping 24mg for 9 years. Now that things have settled down so much, I could probably do it.
