Grandson #1, Miles ... he'll be 3 years old next week.



He does like mowers ... his Daddy doesn't have a tractor to sit on like Pop-pop ... but that doesn't stop Miles.

This week he took over Pop-pop's chair with the remotes. (Watching the Grinch Stole Christmas, he was 'aghast' that 'that bad guy' is stealing all the 'pezzants'.)

Thanks. I forgot the petite diced tomatoes.

I once tried to dress it all up with some Hormel canned chili. I don't know why, but it was horrible.

Chili is not spaghettiable. It's a whole different food group.

I have to be careful of using it ... it works for me ... but one of the side effects for some folks are vivid dreams. And I've actually woken up totally worn out staying up all night watching my dreams. It can give me the only dream cycles I know of where I can actually be the director of my dreams and do re-runs of scenes with changes to see how the different outcome effects the overall movie. I can only imagine that a cocktail of melatonin and a Chantex, for me, would be like a dose of l-s-dizzy.





Probably Kaitlin's marriage to Adam. It likely surpassed the birth of each of our children, which is 2nd runner up. My joy and happiness was outward not restricted to 'me'. It was her dream come true. Since she was a child she always wanted a beach marriage ceremony. And there was not a much better setting then the beach on Coronado Island in the San Diego Bay. It was a military wedding with officers decked out in their finest forming an archway of shining swords, live violin music playing, white doves flying in the air, sound of the bay washing to the shore and love and friends all around. That day could be my 'ground hog' day and play again and again except for the fact 6 weeks later we were laying Adam to rest in Arlington. Now that's a bottle I keep sealed up and locked away in the depths of my head.

(I apologize for the 'downer' ending ... but you asked the question)



Careful what you ask for ... we just had Miles for 3 days and the camera was clicking. Watch for a furture installment.

Part of your post was so sad!!!That is so heart-breaking! And...DON'T apologize...it's a part of your life story. My heart especially goes out to your Kaitlin.
So...on a lighter note...we're looking forward to vids of the lil charmer!

DH...that's a great idea! Each time you've somewhat managed to get on the H/O you've had issues with your pc.

Well now .. I have done that myself .. if I fry up some smoked sausage and have some leftovers, I have sliced it up and put it in spaghetti the next day along with hamburger .. I don't know how it would be if not fried, however, as it was, the concoction was pretty good .. of course, my mental state may have played a part, I don't know ..

Wonderful! Thank you! He's so adorable, and you're a very good photograper and editor.

But, I couldn't find what y'all were talking about. Not like I could on my Windows computer. Things were way different and I didn't feel up to explaining and describing the differences.

I am very easily frustrated.

While we're at it, maybe someone can help me get this Linux system hooked up to my printer! My printer is so old that I can't find whatever files that Linux needs to use it.

I hesitated to reply, but decided to ..

As one who has been haunted by the Ghosts of Times Past, I generally don't much talk or write about it .. with the exception of various times here on ECF when I have felt almost compelled, and when I did, it provided some degree of catharsis .. one of my sincere hopes is that, over the years, we, together, have built a repository of memory .. covering the Gauntlet of Human Emotion .. and when I say, "We" I say it for all of us ..

In times Past, I have written about the bits and bytes that will forever linger in some digital form, likely in perpetuity .. like the traveling Minstrels and Storytellers from days long ago, perhaps, sometime in the distant future, someone will stumble upon the narrative ..

Your Post, Mike, was and is quite beautiful and yet, heartbreaking all at the same time ..

When my Regular Sleep Cycle is disrupted, or I just can't climb out of my own head with the Old Brain re-hashing and wondering "What If .. ??" .. my go to remains 1/2-1mg clonazepam, with or without a Natural Herbal kicker ..

And, thanks for the pics/vid of Miles .. made my day .. .. there is still hope ..

Chili for me is usually about a 4-5 day event .. .. I make a fairly large batch (how can you make just a little chili .. ??)

Day One : Chili / with cheese on top
Day Two : Chili with Fritos and Cheese
Day Three : Chili with Some Sort of Noodles
Day Four : Chili Omelette
Day Five : (if there is any left) .. Chili Dogs ..

(Day Five May be Substituted for any Other Day Except For Day One .. ) .. .. Also, I will admit to leaning toward always trying to make Multi-Day Meals ..
