I think perhaps some of you may recall earlier posts where I said I was always nocturnal. Never wanted to go to bed at night, nor get up in the early morning... TV used to sign off at night, so it can't be blamed. I'd turn on the radio and pull out a book or sketch pad.

When scanning all of the things I was attempting to save from water damage last week, I ran across a few of my very old sketches my Dad had kept ....

Not my best and I was surprised he had kept them..

I order so much from them and like to track the orders, so I have it already. I never got a bonus like that...

I get txt msg's on my phone from Amazon, no need for the app.

Got up at 5 (yes, AM ) for work for nearly 35 years. Started sleeping in when I retired in '11, and I can usually keep my eyes closed until about 6, 6:30

Me too! Have you ever noticed how most 'morning people' are a little smug about it? Like there is some sort of moral superiority about getting up before the chickens?

I know......what makes them so morally superior in their minds.

My past sleep history is well beyond the norm, for various reasons .. for too many years, there was not much I could do to maintain a regular schedule ..

For some time now, normally, I roll out of the sack at 8:00 AM Central and I usually hit the sack between Midnight and 1:00 AM .. for a good part of my life, I ate nothing when I got up until at least Noon, that changed now due to DR's Orders, so I eat a little something .. Coffee being Required ever since I was in Boot Camp .. Folgers and I have had a long and pleasant relationship ..

I generally don't like to talk for at least an hour after I get up, which would bug my wives big time (yes, I only had one at a time .. ) .. when I smoked, I never lit a cig up until I had had some coffee and my head had started to clear .. when I get up, it's always been a time where I like to say "It's a new Day and I am re-populating my Mind .." (What's left of it, anyway .. )

S :: I saw your post yesterday and it made me remember I saved a couple of things my son had drawn / made when he was in grade school, which I have not dug out in years .. sometimes, something can trigger an emotional response and leave me with nothing I can say .. besides your talent at an early age, the love of your Father is most reflected in this simple act .. I just don't have any other words .. it is just so special ..

As an after thought to my "Sleep" post :: I think, once we are left without the mandated need for a rigid schedule, our natural body clock begins to kick in and we adjust to what it tells us ..

S :: I saw your post yesterday and it made me remember I saved a couple of things my son had drawn / made when he was in grade school, which I have not dug out in years .. sometimes, something can trigger an emotional response and leave me with nothing I can say .. besides your talent at an early age, the love of your Father is most reflected in this simple act .. I just don't have any other words .. it is just so special ..

Ah Willie....your uncanny ability to pull out songs that have meant something in my life never ceases to amaze me... My relationship with my Dad had been so broken that there was zero communication for a number of years and then...while that song was never a big chart topper in my area, every time I turned the radio on....there it was. I felt that the universe was trying to send me a message and I reached out to him. The bridges were mended "In The Living Years" and I was there with him at the end.

I don't have a lot of "stuff"...perhaps because I've had to start over from scratch so many times..but I do have a few, precious to me, things that were my son's. My daughter has his portfolio with all of his drawings....which leads me to another song. I know that most often this would be regarded as a man's love for the woman in his life, but for me...after the loss of my son, I hoped that my daughter would know...

And on that note...
What if you have said everything you feel you need to say, more than once. But now, you are not saying the things that you want to say because you don't think the other person is in a place (mentally) to hear them right now?
I'll have to certainly give this some thought, because "If Tomorrow Never Comes" I don't want to regret leaving anything unsaid.

I don't like to give advice, since I generally don't even take my own .. .. however, having been in a similar situation(s) .. I find that people are stronger than many give them credit for .. AFAIC, I would personally rather be told what another believes they need to tell but may be holding in, regardless of my mental state at the time .. The Truth Will Set You Free ..
