Meet Me in St Louie Louie
My new years eve plans are a nice fire in the fire place, some games with the husband, may have kiddo over if he desires. As always, my "plan" is to stay up that late and that gets harder with every passing year. I think it would probably be NOT okay to take extra ADHD meds for that purpose (although my pdoc has said I can... I take the puniest dose, LOL, and I like to keep it that way). So it will probably be apple cider, the family, and my eating myself into oblivion until I pass out on the couch. Heh. I partied enough for the rest of my life long ago.... :)

Anna :: Most everyone here is a good writer and I enjoy each and every Post each person makes .. however, I have to say, I generally get a real kick out of most all of your Posts .. and, I am lifting "I partied enough for the rest of my life long ago...." for my Notebook of Notes .. in fact, I may take one of the amusing PICS of me Yiddle posted and blend that with it as a new Meme .. :)

We plan on staying home also....toying with idea of lighting the fireplace cause this cold spell is supposed to last awhile. We'll see! We'll have dinner around 6ish of pork, sauerkraut and black eyed peas for M....sil......and laze around till the ball is about do drop.....step outside, bang the pots and pans, then bring the plastic bag of coins/bills/that I previously set out and re-enter the house.

Thanks for reminding me of the Black Eye Peas .. I need to check the pantry and see if I have some .. and get some if I don't .. every little bit helps .. :)

Good morning Fran. Are you ready for the big new years celebration. I'm going to let Willie do mine for me, and I'm sure he will do me proud.

"I partied enough for the rest of my life long ago...." ..

Well, maybe not THAT long ago .. when a Woman is Pregnant, folks like to say "She's eating for two .." .. now, the concept of Partying for Two could add a new twist .. or put me Six Feet Under at this point .. ;)

(DISCLAIMER :: I know my Limits, I stop when I reach them, I have never been Drunk and Driven .. but, I do like to kick it, I will Dance, and I don't much care if anyone thinks I'm being a Fool .. not that I've ever actually been a Fool, but, you know, some people formulate wrong opinions .. ;) ..

When I was a child, my Mother always went out on NYE and brought home the silly hats and noise makers for my sister and I to play with the next day. As an adult because, with a single exception, I was always working on NYE....that became my only tradition....to gather up as many of the hats and noise makers I could find at the end of the shift and bring them home for the kids.

That single time I didn't work was because of my shift boss, whom I always felt tried to be as fair as possible with everyone. For everyone whose normal days off fell on the Holidays...those with families who had requested Christmas off were accommodated even though it wasn't their regular day off....single persons would have to work to allow those requests....and the following week it was reversed....

As I'm prone to do, let me take a moment to convey a sincere thanks to all of you that spent some of your precious time here this week .. :) .. it's greatly appreciated, each and every one .. :)

We'll put 2017 into the Book of Memory soon .. and begin working on Memories for 2018 .. I hope they end up all being good ones for each and every one of you .. :) .. and I hope we continue to Gather around the Digital Campfire .. :)

I'll close it out for me for 2017 as follows ::

If you have a set of cans (headphones) or a reasonable set of speakers hooked to your PC, you'll get maximum effect out of this "Bohemian Rhapsody" rendition .. the Low Bass this guy can hit is incredible .. :) .. and, I must say, I am fairly happy with the Daisy Dukes Kirstin is Rocking .. ;) ..

I've always liked Lady Antebellum .. this is my favorite .. the Lyrics and Melody are just beautiful ..

Yeah, I've kind of over posted the following Video in the last year .. but, I made a lengthy post on Tom Petty when he passed, for any that remember .. I just Love this song and the Message .. we are all still "Learning To Fly" .. or we should be .. when a Songwriter/Singer that has touched you dies, it's as if a Friend has passed .. but the good news is, you can always come back and revisit the Work they did that will live on .. :)

Lastly, this pretty much sums up my thoughts on our Small Piece of the CyberVerse ::

Nice!! Another TV Mini Series I would like to have is James Clavell's "Shogun"...... I'd read the book and wasn't disappointed with the adaptation to the screen as usually happens...

Oh boy, do I ever miss James Clavell. Actually, I like any writer who can make an interesting story from historical events. In King Rat, I understand he was actually a POW in the Japanese camp he used as his setting for the story.

Pat, firstly, you're not being nosy, just interested in Peter's recovery!
I've tried many times for him to take one of my protein shakes, but, nah, he's not interested....he replies that he'd rather get his nutrition from 'real food'.......I know, that's not necessarily true, but I don't push it. I, on the other hand, do have protein shakes, especially when I'm not hungry.......I usually have 70-90 grams of total protein daily.
I understand, thing is you're right. Seems as tho when we get older we don't get quite as much protein from the food anymore that's why the supplement is important. You can do a lot with them like add a banana, ice cream, peanut butter and put them in a blender. Just tastes like a chocolate milkshake. The stuff from Costco has no proteiny taste to them especially if you use milk. Taste great in a shake or a smoothy. The heart is a muscle and they need protein especially if they are running weak. Just a thought.

Yep the stuff I have to drink has a little more of a protein taste and between the 2 shakes I have to drink every day which is 80 grams of protein and what I take in the doc figures I may absorb 1/2 of that including what I take in in food which is mostly chicken. They are finally going to give me another endoscopy and see what is going on at the end of my esophagus that is blocking it and hopefully they will dilate it as much as possible so I could eat something besides chicken fillets and mashed potatoes, overeasy eggs and toaster waffles with lots of syrup. I also have found I can eat a half a sandwich for lunch using that really good bread I like from Costco. All of those things taste great but get a little old when you have them everyday. I have to be really careful that I chew everything well. Sometimes if I'm really hungry I forget and I pay for it for about 4 hours waiting for it to go thru. I'm probably taking in 110 grams of protein a day to just maintain. I have to have another barium swallow test week after next then the endoscopy. Hopefully the Barretts hasn't gotten worse and has turned to cancer but won't know till they check it. Normal people, which I am not, it doesn't 90% of the time so we shall see what they have to say and maybe get it opened up enough to have some different food. Definitely don't want no darned feeding tube.

Yep he'll do us both proud, Mexican food, some Marguaritas then on to the good stuff. YeeHaw. Sounds like a good time to me. I used to like New Years eve. Occasionally didn't remember it so I know I was having fun.

We used to do a show in Syracuse, NY in March. First year we went to the Falls. Several of the smaller falls were frozen solid - it was amazing! On our way home, in 2 days, we drove from hard, frozen winter, through various stages of spring to early summer in Florida. It was an awesome drive!
