This has been mentioned before but it bears mentioning again: In the interest of you being your own health's best advocate always ask for copies of all your lab results and doctor notes from all your visits and all your doctors. It is your right. They have to give them to you.

Don't depend on your doctor's patient portal to get your complete infomation. Most of them only give you a summary. You'll be surprised at how much you'll learn from copies of the reports. Often they will contain info that was not conveyed to you during your visit. Perhaps your doctor is running behind and only addresses the important…at the time…stuff. Or perhaps he/she didn't thoroughly read the lab results and missed something. Believe me, it happens even with some of the best doctors. More often than not there is a good explanation…not necessarily one that means there is a problem. But we deserve answers to anything concerning our health.

Sometimes there are mistakes in our medical history…past medications or conditions long since resolved that somehow were never taken out of our history or not marked as resolved. This can sometimes make a difference in the treatment chosen by other doctors we consult, such as specialists.

As mad as it makes me…and it may make you…that our charts are not totally accurate, mistakes will happen and the only way to ensure accuracy is to check every report from our doctors and demand corrections and explanations.

Good luck to everyone going through cardiac problems. I have to see some type of electrical cardiologist specialist in 3 weeks. My loop monitor is reporting that my heart rate drastically increases occasionally and they don't know why. I know it's not equal to a bypass but may still require surgery.
To the family members, keep up the support. I'd be lost without my SO. I know he's as stressed as I am so y'all keep coming here and talking. Y'all need support too if you expect to be there for your SO.

Good morning Yiddle! Another early riser.
Not by choice! ;) Long story here... When I moved up here from NJ, I had 2 little shih tzu who had always slept on my bed from the time they were tiny pups. My little female developed medical issues and could no longer control her bladder, so...not allowed on the bed any longer. To make it fair I wouldn't let my little male up there either... Consequently, when he jumped up I told him 'No!" and put him down. After my little female passed I put him back on my bed at night, but...in his little doggy brain, he has decided that he can't jump up there...he is perfectly able to o_O. Now, when he gets down in the middle of the night to go get a drink, or use his piddle pad, he barks his fool head off until I wake up and lift him back up...

He needs a little step to get up to the bed. You can buy one or do what I did when my elderly cat, Sophie. I wrapped a remnant piece of carpet around a box about the size of a step in which I placed a brick to give it weight and make it stable.

I had to place her on the step and then up on the bed a few times and she got the idea!

Tomorrow my man is scheduled for implant of a pacemaker/defibrillator. I will be so relieved to know he has some protection because as of right now, he has no defenses, except for his meds.

@Bea-FL and @WhiteHighlights Thinking of you as well as we are more or less traveling the same road and praying that our men will have successful procedures and recover quickly with a renewed sense of good health!
