Good morning everyone! I hope everyone has a good day today!
We're at the clinic waiting for SO to see his new primary care Dr. Then this evening he gets to start the prep for his colonoscopy. Boy will he be in for a shock. It's going to be a long night. But that's hours away and once he leaves the room for the bathroom I can laugh :D

Maybe one of you savy people can advise me: we have been talking about cutting the cord too and we won't do it ilegally. We have a Roku stick and through it we access several free movie channels, Crackle, HGTV, Hulu, Amazon Prime if we subscribe to it, and some other free or paid stuff.

The only thing holding us back from discontinuing cable from ATT and getting only the internet from them is favorite shows which are all on NBC and CBS. Is Hulu the one that offers access to those for a fee?

I've not looked into NBC, but I did look into CBS a couple of months ago .. at that time, they offered a selection of shows that had already aired at some point .. (Like "Survivor" and others, only a few days after initial airing) .. for free .. I accessed using a PC, I don't know if there is a streaming device app .. I think the paid All Access is about $6 clams a month ..

    Good morning :)

    @leftyandsparky and @Uncle thanks.

I should have mentioned that we tried the antenna thing but because we live in a large forested area that stretches for miles the signals are very weak, even though, by the reception map, we should have very strong signals. I was hoping we could get those networks some other way.

Same here, Bea. "Local" is 60 miles of trees, hills and mountains.

    This works :)

YEP - Surprises galore, but not unexpected if you are right next to the bathroom or already sitting there . . .

Now - Just as a suggestion, I actually started drinking the prep much earlier then they told me to, as a result everything was gone & done with - especially before I went to bed . . . Only had to get up a couple of times to pass gas safely - if Ya' know what I mean . . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

We noticed on the prep instructions this time that the 2nd half of the stuff you have to drink was supposed to be done at 11:00 p.m. That was a couple hours later than our last time. Well, Mike moved the whole prep up an hour so he finished up at 10:00. When we asked why the late hour we were told that the body continues to make mucus etc even if you're not ingesting anything so it's better for the doc to see what's going on.

Yeah but .... even starting the 2nd 1/2 of the prep an hour earlier then 'instructed' I was up 'till 2am before getting to sleep, then up again at 5:30am to be at the hospital by 6:30am. Sheesh! I told the doc's why not just set their timing instruction for stage 1 and stage 2 of the prep to keep me up all night. Then I could sleep all day the day before, be up all night and just go straight to the hospital.

I didn't have that prep for my surgery. I was told to report to the hospital at 5:30. It was an hour drive. I also had to take a shower with special soap "in the morning" , so I stayed up all night. First cut was at 7:30.

Tossed my old bras yesterday and grabbed a package of new ones out of the postman 's hands.

I hear Ya' both, I probaly had the same instructions. However because of the 24 hour no eating - just fluids (so a couple of cups of coffee was permissible that morning) - I did not follow the instructions and started the "Cleansing" in the early afternoon and was "finished" by 8-9 PM that night . . . AND - Thankfully, since I do not wake up "well" (Honestly - Not a very nice person to be around first thing in the morning, especially with no coffee . . . ;) ), the procedure was not schedule until 10 AM the day of (so had to be at hospital by 9 AM). Anyway, what was best, there were No problems (only 1 polyp - which was benign was removed) and all passages turn out to be very "Clear" . . . What's even more important, I DO NOT have to go for another for at least 10 years . . . ;)

So what do you have? Were you able to cut the cord?

His instructions say he has to drink the first half of it starting at 6 p.m. tonight and then drink the second half of it at 3 a.m. in the morning. He has to drink 8 oz every 10 minutes until it's gone. I think we might start that one a little earlier.

    Good afternoon everyone...:)

I've been reading all of the posts regarding cutting the cable. Basically I'm 'screwed, glued, tattooed and nailed' to Comcast. Verizon doesn't even offer DSL here...no other internet providers...antenna not a possible solution. If I removed both TV and phone from Comcast, I would need to upgrade both cell phone plan and Hulu...which would end up costing me more than the small amount saved. Internet is the largest part of my cable bill, and it's not unlimited streaming, so....there's that...:(

I think Mike could have started his prep earlier since he was the first one scheduled so early in the morning. We weren't sure because we hadn't read the instructions until the day of the prep and hadn't seen the 11:00 dose of those 8 oz glasses. Just assumed it was the same schedule as the other 2 times. Same Ducolax and Miralax. I'm told doctors each have their own preference for the prep. After age 82 we don't need to have one again. Guess people don't get colon cancer after age 82...

After reading all the posts about cutting cable, I'm more confused than ever.......we're approximately 60+ miles from any station either way! Peter says let things stay as they are cause it will only confound the situation. I tend to agree with him.
We do have Roku on two of our Smart TVs and that serves us well! The big screen TV in the living room is not a smart tv, but we are OK with that.

Not the best news here. Hubs has bone cancer. It is just in one spot so will be treated with radiation.

Oh (((((Fran & hubs))))) I am so sorry to read this! It came as a shock to you, I know! The doctor and reports gave no indication beforehand?

Oh Fran, I'm so sorry to hear this. When will they get started with the radiation? Is he in much pain?
Yes he's in quite a bit of pain. His pelvis is cracked in the same spot.Meeting with radiation Monday. Not sure if that includes the first treatment also.
