Good afternoon everyone...:)

I've been reading all of the posts regarding cutting the cable. Basically I'm 'screwed, glued, tattooed and nailed' to Comcast. Verizon doesn't even offer DSL here...no other internet providers...antenna not a possible solution. If I removed both TV and phone from Comcast, I would need to upgrade both cell phone plan and Hulu...which would end up costing me more than the small amount saved. Internet is the largest part of my cable bill, and it's not unlimited streaming, so....there's that...:(

There she is! Hi Yiddle! Yeah, we are at the Mercy of the cable companies and their bundles. For years just had Comcast, but it was frustrating because Verizon came into our neighborhood, but stopped laying cable a block away from us. Took a couple years, but they finally came through and connected to a new development just beyond us so we got hooked up. They're both too expensive, but I'd rather watch a movie at home and couldn't do without the internet.

I hear Ya' both, I probaly had the same instructions. However because of the 24 hour no eating - just fluids (so a couple of cups of coffee was permissible that morning) - I did not follow the instructions and started the "Cleansing" in the early afternoon and was "finished" by 8-9 PM that night . . . AND - Thankfully, since I do not wake up "well" (Honestly - Not a very nice person to be around first thing in the morning, especially with no coffee . . . ;) ), the procedure was not schedule until 10 AM the day of (so had to be at hospital by 9 AM). Anyway, what was best, there were No problems (only 1 polyp - which was benign was removed) and all passages turn out to be very "Clear" . . . What's even more important, I DO NOT have to go for another for at least 10 years . . . ;)

Well at least the day of the prep, this time they considered coffee a clear liquid. My last two procedures I wasn't even allowed to have coffee. And I guess like you I am not a very nice person without my morning caffeine fix. Plus I usually don't drink caffeinated coffee later in the day, this time it help curb the hunger from no solid foods all day.

The other plus, my procedure was scheduled as the 1st one of the morning. So I got it over with and had my coffee waiting in the recovery room.

My first two, I had small polyps removed so that moved my schedule to 5 years between 'em. You're lucky that even though they found a polyp you can go 10 years before enduring it again.

His instructions say he has to drink the first half of it starting at 6 p.m. tonight and then drink the second half of it at 3 a.m. in the morning. He has to drink 8 oz every 10 minutes until it's gone. I think we might start that one a little earlier.

Yikes, that's extreme, starting prep#2 at 3am. When was his procedure schedule for the next day?

Yes he's in quite a bit of pain. His pelvis is cracked in the same spot.Meeting with radiation Monday. Not sure if that includes the first treatment also.

Fran, so sorry that the bad news is piling on. My sincere wishes for the best outcomes for him and my prayers continue for his health and your mental 'set' during this stressful period.

Is that why his pelvis cracked? It's petty hard to crack the pelvis. Maybe it caused a weak spot? Maybe it's good he fell and broke it so the problem could be found.

Mike, he has to be there at 9. We decided to start the second half at 1am. That way he might get a little sleep. Since they won't let me drive my sister has to drop us off at 7 a.m. and we have to wait 2 hours. Then when it's over my father is going to come pick us up when I call him.

Fran, my entire family is praying for your hubs and for you. Stay strong.

So what do you have? Were you able to cut the cord?

    Smart!

Nope, not feasible. Only telco is Quest, so they "wheel" my dsl at a wonderously slow pace, so streaming isn't something I'd make my worst enemy watch. Dish package for tv.

 Yep - Very Lucky . . . But to be honest, we'll see what will have to happen in 10 years.

BTW: This actually was my 2nd colonoscopy (the first was in my 20's) . . . AND - Although, since the age of 50, with all the other health problems I've had my Primary didn't believe there was a reason for one at the time (still didn't really) . . . However, I've been having some major gastrointestinal problems again this past year, so he finally agreed that it was time to have one to see what might be causing the problems . . .

haha! I know what you mean. When we lived in northern KY we were 45 minutes from the nearest town…in the middle of nowhere. That was wonderful…except for the internet. It was dial-up. They didn't want to install cable because there weren't enough potential customers in the area. If I wanted to download something it took forever…I would start it and had time for a snack, a smoke outside and a potty break before it was done…if I was lucky .
