For the next 10 days we'll be in the 30s daytime and the 20s nighttime. Should have gotten the wood stacked on the porch! It's pretty windy out there which makes it feel even colder so I'm going to stay in and attack all the paperwork sitting on my desk to be filed and tossed. Ugh, but at least I'll be warm!

Good afternoon everyone! I hope everyone has a good day today!
I had another tooth pulled two days ago (it cracked while I was eating an ice cream bar. Nothing hard involved) and I've been bleeding like crazy and sleeping as much as possible. I think the bleeding finally stopped but I'm going back to bed. Catch y'all later.

Oh no, that's awful. Sounds like you should have had it packed yesterday. Or maybe a medication you're taking is keeping it from clotting? If it's still bleeding tomorrow please call and let the doc know what's going on. I hope it starts to heal quickly for you!

My DH's credit card was compromised today. The fraud alert messages come to me since I typically deal with all the accounts. I called but they won't talk to me - turns out he wanted to be primary on this account so they had to talk to him. His face had a funny panicked expression when I passed the phone over. They had to send a text message to confirm his ID - to my cell phone as it's the number of record. I read it off so he could tell the lady from the cc company. He'll get a new card in a couple of days. No clue how it was compromised or why the transaction was flagged (although it was a weird amount $16.32 for gas?). At least it was caught.

Sorry to hear that. Happened to my DH's card last week…for $1 for gas as well. BOA company blocked it. They told us that it's a common ploy when hacking someone's CC. They charge a small amount that is not likely to be noticed. If it's not they proceed to something larger.

Good morning Fran and Whitehighlights!

I worked in the woods for a few years and never wore long johns. I'm not about to start now.

I used to work as a medical assistant is a country town where we'd joke that the median age was 75. I had to give one of our elderly patients an ultra sound treatment to his lower back one Spring and was shocked that when I pulled down his long johns there was flaking skin dropping onto the table. Yep, those old-timers would put the long johns on in the Fall and not take them off till Spring!

We've had that happen to Mike and I several times over the years. Fortunately our credit unions discovered it long before we did and cancelled the card. Sometimes what alerts them is a small trial amount charged to the cc, sometimes less than $2. And there's no way to tell where your card may have been compromised because your number may have been stolen months before. I wish I could know that whoever used our cc numbers is caught and punished!

It's funny because I handle all the bill paying and banking so when we need to make a change or the bank asks him questions he has no idea what they're talking about. It's funny sometimes, but I'm glad they do what they can try to make sure I'm not some thief messing around with his account.

I too handle all the banking and bill paying and when a change or verification is needed by the bank, he hands me the phone and says "here they need to talk to you". I too am glad the banks are that cautious.
