For me, this was one of those times when, strangely, the book and the movie left me with two distinctly different feelings. I had read the book, years before seeing the movie,,,,because I had one Grandmother who always said I reminded her of Scarlet...maybe because whatever crap life dealt me, I always picked myself up and went on..."Tomorrow is another day"...Our daughter just told us that Gone With The Wind is going to be celebrating it's 80 year anniversary by playing in some theaters on 2 days - Friday Feb 28 and Sunday March 3. I just got us tickets for the March 3 matinee. If you're interested you can go online and find out where it'll be playing near you. I forgot that it was 4 hours long! Hopefully we can sit in the very back and stealth vape.
Oddly, the house we bought when we first moved to NJ, set on 1 1/2 acres, looked from the outside as if it could have come from 'Gone With the Wind'. I so wish she could have seen it...
