He is a computer geek. I have told him several times that if something happens to him I will just have to start cutting wires when things stop working. I have no idea how he has things rigged up in this house

That was how it was when son moved out. Since then we have sort of cleaned up the wire mess and can tell.
We did good.
Send him out to shovel snow and chop firewood.
Have him put the snow chains on the car tires, and then remove them.
