My oldest sister (4 years younger than me) lives across the river. My youngest sister lives about 2 hours Northeast of us. Our Thanksgiving Gathering is always at her house (way up North!!!), and our Christmas Gathering is always at my sister's across the river. I'll be riding up with this sister this year on Thursday, and maybe coming back with her daughter, who likes to stay later for the Bon Fire. My sister and her DH like to get home before it gets dark. It's not really a thing with his vision... that's just the way they do it.

Quite often both. IDK what younger sis's DH is doing this year. He often likes to deep fry a 2nd turkey in peanut oil. There's never a lack of choices in food. My family isn't as big as yours, JJ, and my brother and middle don't come anymore, but it's still quite a gathering with all those that Do come.

My middle sister is very near Fudgey, in Oklahoma. She doesn't come this time of year for the weather, driving through the mountains. My brother is in the Dallas area, but just doesn't come. He quit giving excuses.

I'd say, No. The Beach is the only kind of Theme (in the name of the thread), but that's not a main area of conversation.
