You can use Silica Wick also. It's a lot easier to work with because it doesn't short like SS Mesh does.

I've also seen DID set ups with hemp, but I never tried it. Silica would be easiest, IMO. I never got my DID set up with mesh so that I got good flavor....mine always tasted harsh and metallic

Some folks love Cotton in the DIDs and A7s, too. Between Hemp, Cotton, and Bamboo, I liked Bamboo the best. But I haven't tried Cotton in a Micro Coil yet.

I've only worked with the mess and it always shorted out.

SS Mesh is a total PITA!!! That's why I say to start with Silica, or something like Bamboo or Hemp Twines.

Rip Tripper has videos for making a cotton/micro coil setup for the ProTank. It ROCKS!!!
Oxidizing the mesh never helped me at all. The only way I was ever able to use SS Mesh was to cover it with a silica product called XS-18. I haven't been able to find more, but you told me about XC-18, so I may look into that when I run out of this.

DH did that for me.
And talking of DH, he forgot to take his bedtime meds last night and paid for it today. I felt sorry for him and told him that I'd take the garbage out tonight so BBL.
