If I got a W2, it would be just that easy and would have been filed already, too. But I am Self-Employed, so I have to do it the long way (hard way), and come up with all the Deductions I can muster. Going through every receipt, bill, etc., get maddening. I hate it for a system that is actually illegal anyway.
Did you know that? The IRS should not even exist. Federal Taxes were voted through in a Lame Duck session, but never Ratified.

I dunno...we need to pay for government somehow. I'm all for taxing only big corporations, especially those that hide most of their profits off-shore, instead of taxing citizens. However, I like having clean(ish) water, clean(ish) air, safe(ish) food, and safe(ish) roads to travel...that all requires some money coming in.

I agree that cities, states, and the feds need money, and I also agree that there are better ways that it could be done. But debating this is a whole can of worms.
The one thing that I did do today was cook as in frying stuff for supper.
