Hey y'all,
The first few lines of this came to me the other night when I came home from getting gas and shopping. I finished it and thought I'd share.
I can’t see the stars
The night sky is so cloudy,
I can’t see a single star.
A drizzling rain is coming down,
It’s dreary out so far.
A crescent moon is hanging,
‘bout the only light I see.
It shimmers
through the thick white clouds,
It’s quite a sight to see.
I’m standing here and gazing,
Just taking in the view.
My mind is overtaken,
And then I think of you.
I wonder what you’re doing.
I wonder what you’d see,
If you should go and stand outside,
And would you think of me.
Is your night sky this cloudy,
Or can you see the stars?
Would you just see a crescent moon,
Or Jupiter and Mars?
Would you feel such amazement,
By taking in the scene?
The Universe amazes me,
Yet makes me feel serene.
The night sky is so cloudy,
I can’t see a single star.
The drizzling rain’s subsided now,
But all I see so far, (is that)
Crescent moon that’s hanging,
And the clouds it hides behind,
On this dark and cold and dreary night,
But somewhere in my mind, (I know)
Tomorrow will be better,
Tomorrow I’ll be fine.
A brand new day is coming,
And the Sun is going to shine.
The night sky is so cloudy,
I can’t see the stars right now.
But I know that they’re still up there,
And that’s enough somehow.
I'd love to experience this view.
