He drove it two miles to the grocery store a couple of weeks ago. Got stopped and ticketed for no insurance and no inspection. That is his luck!
I was going to try to help him get those taken care of so maybe the ticket could be dropped. It is a $250 ticket and he doesn't have it to pay.
Did they give him a time limit? If so they might drop it.

Yep, an "inexperienced driver" boy
JJ is right....it will be an "ouch"....and only worse because he is a boy and his premiums were already higher....and in Illinois they go up by 20% for three years. So the more your premium is, the worse they gouge you for an accident. This is the voice of experience speaking....my gouge will be coming off next renewal....as long as I stay accident free.
All the more reason to be glad he's okay! I wondered about the axle when I saw the photo...

Yes, too bent to even tow. And yes, very thankful he is fine!! DH blames himself because he felt he should have told him to stay home instead of trying to go in. But… how is one to get experience driving on snow if they don't do it??

Around here, if you get the inspection and whatever like that fixed, and take proof to court, they will usually drop it.
Court date is mid-Feb. We were hoping if we could get it taken care of by then we could get it dropped. I think the ticket fee is only $50 but the 'court costs' are around $200. Ridiculous!!

Yes, we were already paying 'extra' for him as a male and inexperienced. I may have to sign up for some freelance shifts to pay our insurance now
