I have been switching between watching a very poignant show, "The Amish Shunned: American Experience" and posting things here ranging from "a** for brains" to drunk chicks. I'm feeling a little personality disorder going on here!![]()

San Diego is not completely out of the picture. I know it well but am pulling back on that for various reasons. N.C. isn't either - but everybody seems to be flocking there. I can see why, but just that fact makes me wonder.... Of course my niece lives there, so she could push around my wheel chair later on if I end up there!
Other thoughts: Portland, Maine. Chattanooga. St. Augustine (yes, FL). You see a theme here; water....
I must be able to walk to things. Market, restaurant, bar, whatever. I am open to suggestions!
My Only Mon Cher.
Ditch your DH and come to Central LA, Mon Cher.My Only Mon Cher.

I like it because I'm more of a homebody. I don't live anywhere near the city, and don't want to. I like having some land and neighbors not right on top of me.Heh-heh! After all my nagging about this topic I'm sure he's thought about ditching me! Seriously - I really not normally a nag at all; say it once, then drop it and try to fix the problem myself. On the topic of leaving here, I've been nag-nag-nagging for the last two years! I really mean it!
You'd die of boredom in GreensboroI like it because I'm more of a homebody. I don't live anywhere near the city, and don't want to. I like having some land and neighbors not right on top of me.
If you wanted to think about NC (the seasons are great here, plus not many natural disasters plague us), maybe Raleigh or Charlotte. OR, for a more artsy place, Asheville is nice.
I think I'd want out of there, too. Strike that... I know I would.

That's where everybody is moving! I've not been there but it sounds like a great place. I'm not kidding when I say every other person I talk to thinks about moving there. The real estate prices reflect it........and soon taxes will follow. This concerns me, coming from this area - where the taxes are absolutely insane.......coming from someone of my political orientation, no less!

Well, he finally got me to shut up!!!!!![]()

Yeah, I imagine it would be expensive to live there. BUT, compared to what you are used to, maybe not as bad as you think?
Well, think I'll head out. I'll come back later and read the fun I missed out on earlier![]()
See ya soon![]()

Oh - no doubt. Just trying to make the dollars stretch as far as possible. This is partly why San Diego is not looking so attractive lately!

Plus, I've heard things that don't sound so good about SD falling into the ocean. Of course, they've been saying this for years, so who knows, but that's scary to think about. :cringe:
Then there's the crazy traffic.![]()

I don't have a problem with traffic there....BUT you are right on the other thing. I should strategically purchase inland property.......and when it all falls off into the Pacific, I will name my property "Lisaville", ala that James Bond movie!
