I can't stay long. I have to write to the Humane Society and report a few acquaintances of mine for their devious plans for a sweet little innocent pug Mouse traps??? Snow drifts??? Starvation???

You'd never report Glam!!!

I'm worried about my sweet Grover. I mentioned on here that he had vomited a lot on Thur. and wouldn't eat Thur night. Then Fri and yesterday he seemed fine and ate well. Now today he is back to vomiting a lot I have to work tonight but will call the vet when I get home in the morning and see if they can see him.

Where did you get your new kitties, Sun? Seems early for spring kittens doesn't it? Did their mom abandon them? I know you are excited to have more babies to bottle feed

Good thing too, because there are no more for awhile. I have two one week babies as of an hour ago.... I'm getting them warm and will feed in another hour or so. I already know the little boy doesn't want to eat so I may have to tube him...

May I please see pictures of the two babies when you have time to take one or two? I hope the male decides he's hungry and will eat normally for you. I also pray that everything goes smoothly with them and they find new, happy homes soon, or are taken together.

The time I had a liter of ≈15 (or maybe more - seemed like 30 when bathing, clipping claws, and taking care of them ), when it came down to the last two, that was the toughest emotionally. It was a relief that they were taken together. The lady only wanted one, and decided at the last minute to take both of them.

Yep, saw that, and a bunch of folks from TN went to the session but were not allowed to speak. Philip Morris had it tabled. They want it classified as tobacco so it won't pose as much competition to their own industry. There's words for people like that but I'm not allowed to say them here.

These babies were found laying in the rain in someone's yard, abandoned by mom. Yes, it is a little early for kittens but no by far...

Yeah, I figure it's Big tobacco that has Lake Charles pushing the e-cig usage ban there. I wrote to that City Councilman, asking a lot of questions about who brought the concern to him, why he is considering it, and what kind of research he has done to verify or dispute what he has been told. My email had to go to the general council, but I was told it had been forwarded to him in his district office. I told him I'd be willing to visit him in his office, rather than sending all the links I gathered for your fight, because I pretty much knew he'd never read them on his own.

I didn't know if the council meetings were open or not. I know people can attend, but I don't know if the public is allowed to speak.

Not so much on the train ride...I couldn't get a seat in the "Quiet Car" (no cellphones, music, or loud talking allowed)...and then I had to sit with a woman chewing gum like her life depended on it But it is a relatively short ride (less than 2 hours), so I was able to contain myself. I didn't tell her to spit out her gum, but she eventually did...maybe she chewed all the flavor out of it??

I had a runt or two in that large liter. They all did fine and found homes. I knew nothing of tube feeding then. They ate on their own and developed. I'm thankful for that. I hope your two will be fine as well.

I don't know what to think, other than it seems to be misinformation to create fear that is being used to support these kinds of bans. It's going on now in Southwestern Louisiana, and we never expected it here. Our Gov't (state, parish [county], or town) doesn't generally get involved in these kinds of things.

I don't know much about your area at all, so I can't speak for people down there...At our local city council meetings, it seemed to be more ANTZ at work more than anything else. The people who were allowed to speak repeated the same misinfo that we always hear about...e-cigs are after our children, it's just as bad as smoking, there's antifreeze in it, there's poison in it, etc. That's what I saw at the one meeting I attended, and I read the same in some of my local papers.

To me it just doesn't make sense that BT is behind all of that when they're getting into the market. I'm sure it's possible, but that wasn't my impression.


EDIT: It also doesn't help that the NY Times keeps running opinion pieces instead of educational journalism that presents the majority of the vetted research. The Times and other well-regarded (meaning often quoted) news outlets keep repeating the same from the same, old, out-dated, and disproven "studies." It's maddening! At least the piece linked here gives both sides of the discussion a voice, however...that doesn't often happen in the larger media outlets, so I guess that is some sign of progress...

Yes, I will take Grover to the vet tomorrow. I even considered taking him to the emergency vet tonight. But I have to work and I don't want to push that off on DH. I told him to keep a close watch on him tonight and take him in if he thinks he is getting worse. He (Grover, not DH ) is hiding in the closet now

And I've had the same thought as you, Stone, r/t BT and legislation. NJoy and Blu already owned by BT, right? And others are making their own. It would seem counterproductive for them to try to ban them.
