Enjoy your family. I wish mine were closer. I'm the only one in this town. My oldest sister is across the river, so I guess I should count her as being here. She's only about 8 miles away. Used to be my mother and my youngest lived across the river, too, but that was many moons ago. That sister moved up here for college, and Mom followed to help her, as I was the only one in NOLA back then. They are in North Eastern LA now, about 2.5 hours away. My kids and grandkids are in the NOLA area. My bother is in Dallas, and the middle sister is in Oklahoma, near Fudgey. We're pretty scattered now.

Son is about twenty miles away but we see him and family usually once during the weekend. Today they are here because there is something wrong with their older car and the tools are here. They will be leaving shortly.

The only part of Mexico I've seen is Tijuana. When I was in the Navy, stationed 80 miles north of L.A., my wife and I went down there to do some Christmas shopping. It was quite the adventure. As you may know, you bicker back and forth, trying to get the best price. But I noticed that prices for the exact same things were priced differently as I walked along. I bickered the price down on a necklace, and the further we went along, I kept seeing the price go down, until I came across it for less that I paid up the way. It's the same way on some things in reverse, with the price going up. It depends on which end you start on as to the prices you'll see. Very Clever!!!

I knew I was using the wrong word. Haggling is better.
You just have to know that when you go there, it is expected. That makes it easier. You haggle until they say move along, or something like that. Sometimes, you should!!! Like I said, things are priced different as you go along. Or they were back in 1974.
