I have been researching pondless fountains/waterfalls. We had to take our hot tub out because the breaker messed up, and the water froze last year, creating many leaks in the tub. So now we have a big hole in our deck....that I want to put a waterfall or fountain in. This is taking much research time because hubs wants to do it, but it scares him because he has never done anything like that. I am trying to find just the right application....then when I find what I want, I will have to work on hubs.

Probably like putting up a pool. No matter how hard it looks, it will be harder.

What bothers him? The work itself, or the electrical wiring? I can help with the latter.

There always seems to be more to a job than meets the eye. I have that same problem. I can do all of it, but going by some else's evaluation of what it will take, and getting it done, are most often two different things.

I totally agree....it is going to be a lot of work. And working on hubs is not easy either...he sometimes gets a pessimistic attitude..."cannot be done". Wish I had a dollar for everything he has done that "could not be done." He usually finds a way to do it, just to shut me up! :D I do not think it will be as hard as he thinks it will. In fact, if he gets too pissy, I will just hire it done. That will torque his shorts. :p

That usually does it.

For the love of me, I don't remember seeing a hot tub on your deck. :?:

The old torque in the shorts routine. Maybe if you threaten with hiring it out, he'll respond and get on it.

Thanks, VG....but he built this house and wired it himself. No, it is the logistics of trying to make everything fit in that hole....we have an above grade deck, so he is going to have to fill in the sides of the hole with something, and then maybe elevate parts of the whole with blocks or something because the hole is almost two feet deep with a concrete floor but open on the sides. And figure out how much wire it will need to support the stone, because I want the water to wash over the stones and back into the hidden pond tub underneath....yes, it will be complicated.

I don't blame him for going 8-o

Maybe another hot tub would be simpler.
