This is not the schools' fault.....our government stepping in and creating all the mandates....that is the problem. They need to bow out and let teachers teach!!![]()
I know. Didn't mean to make it sound like it was the teachers. A case of government making decisions and people are suppose to follow along like robots.
Give me the sixties back when people use to stand up and yell!!!!!!!!!
One of my best friends is a retired teacher, and she now substitute teaches....school has not started yet here, and she already has 24 days booked to teach....because the teachers are required to attend government mandated meetings. And she is only one sub.....think of all the other subs that have been booked for those same teacher absences. Taxpayers getting double whammied for school budgets.
When I was a kid, a substitute came in only if a teacher was sick or had a death in the family. Other than that, the regular teacher was there every day, teaching instead of following government mandated rules and regulations.
I could rant and rave all night.....so I will shut up now!![]()
Guten abend, Herr, Meggers. Achtung!!! I also took German....sprechen sie Deutsch? Nein....cannot remember Schitt.

Google translator couldn't even figure that out![]()
Have fun tonight. The going out to dinner with friends sounds like fun. Shoe shopping with hubs not so much![]()

Why Glam, I'm surprised at you. Don't you know that it is all about learning "the standards" now? And let's not be too critical of student writing lest they refuse future tasks. Spelling? Vocabulary? Grammar? No longer taught. The standards baby, just the standards.
Makes you wonder what they are trying to "mold" the kids into.![]()
I don't think they are "molding" anymore, just pushing them through and out![]()

I think some states are finally getting tired of it. North Carolina voted to reject the Common Core curriculumAnd I saw a headline recently (didn't read the article) that some schools are rejecting Michelle's ridiculous school lunch dictates. I have heard of stories re that.... a kid would have a perfectly healthy lunch from home but it didn't fit her criteria so the teacher would throw away the kid's lunch and make them eat a much less healthy school lunch (and charge them for it, of course).
LADY'S YEARLY EXAM
I went to the doctor for my yearly physical.
The nurse started with certain basics.
"How much do you weigh?" she asked.
"135," I said.
The nurse put me on the scale.
It turns out my weight is 180.
The nurse asked, "Your height?"
"5 foot 4," I said.
The nurse checked and saw that I only measure 5' 2"
She then took my blood pressure and told me that it is very high.
"Of course it's high!" I screamed, 'When I came in here I
was tall and slender! Now I'm short and fat!"
She put me on Prozac.
What a witch

Think he is going to be a stallion too?
No saltines!!!! No saltines! Boy, was I mad. All breads - even the breakfast rolls have to be whole wheat. Whole wheat spaghetti. The kids eat the meat and throw the bun away.
Computer restarting so I am heading to bed now. Tomorrow....
Sweet dreams!
