Hiya Meggers :D I did the elliptical and finally finished the spinner. I think that deserves a nap!

I have another wooden chest that my grandfather made that I thought about starting on today. But it is hot and muggy out there  I think I'll save that for another day!

 I know. I have a 1865 Singer sewing machine that's been in my family since 1865 sitting in my barn. Not sure what to do with it yet. The mechanics work fine but...the cabinet is a bit rough. My sisters didn't want it and my Mom didn't want us to sell it(not that she'd know if we did)...so now I have it. I don't mind keeping stuff that belonged to my Dad or his side but...I don't really care about Mom's family stuff.

 Get it done? Get what done? Oh...I don't think I'll be restoring it. I'm not sure what the hell I'd do with it after it was restored. I've got enough crap in my house.

Well, as Dale mentioned, it is probably pretty valuable. If it is not sentimental to you, might as well get some $$ out of it :D

Edit: Never mind  Just saw your post

I have the sewing machine that was my grandmother's. It is not nearly as old as yours, Meggers. But I refinished it because it is sentimental. She died when I was 12. Here are a couple of before and after pics.

Beautiful work Tink :)

I have my great-grandmother's sewing basket. I keep momento's in it :)

Wow, Meggers. It is hard to believe that isn't worth a lot more than $45-$80! I LOVE IT! The 'big ole pedal and fly wheel' make it all the more beautiful IMO. You should restore it and put it in your house. It is a great piece!

 Well it is. I think it's pretty cool. I guess they're not worth much cause there are so many of them around. Oh Honey...I have the "in/out" rule at my house. If something comes in...something has to go out.
