Rescue is the good part of my life. It makes me happy to be able to help the animals. We show dogs and cats at the same time on saturdays. Yeah Jag -- I understand breeding to keep a breed alive but there are so many puppy mills down here it is sickening. We get a lot of rescues out of the local animal shelter before they can get murdered. I won't use the term euthanized, because it isn't. I would love them to convert to a no-kill shelter.
CES -- I haven't seen you in forever! Have a mimosa? I brought enough for all......
Rumor had it there was a party happening...so we've all showed up.

Sun I got my dog from a no kill called Taps. Taps also treats them a lot better than county.

Hey as long as you can type a somewhat understandable sentence, you're doing fine!
Considering humans created most of the breeds, especially dogs, keeping the breed alive does not make too much natural sense.

I think about everybody treats them better than the county. I went down to volunteer a couple of times and they used me like a work horse and were mad when I left to go home -- after being there 6 hours! I literally had to scrape feces and vomit off the cages, even the ceilings. I pulled several dead kittens out of cages and tried to get help for some whose eyes were so infected they were sealed shut with secretions. I know, this paints an ugly picture and I won't talk about it anymore. Everybody is here to relax and have fun. But this is what many shelters are like. I hate them.

LOL -- true. I can understand both sides -- to an extent the breeding side, but I sport the sig of "Don't breed or buy while shelter animals die" in my email. I do appreciate a good looking purebred but not at the cost of the Heinz 57......

Well, isn't every chit chat thread like this? We have nice folks and subjects do get serious once in a while, but mostly we're just trying to relax.
Sanity is not even required...sometimes!!
