Lis can answer for Espanol. There are no "letters" in Chinese, but each syllable is one word and you can string words of similar sounds together. Don't know if that's alliteration though.

i am not going back to find the origin of this topic but for sure in Spanish there is a unique sound for each letter , only a very few exceptions can be found like the C or the or the H that usually has not sound
