Making an executive decision here.......you're always on the Agenda! That's good to know bout the Rm9. I haven't had much leaking with the derringer clone I have since using the o ring, only once I think. Most of my leaking issues have been resolved, but it was making me nuts the first couple of months. Really good to know about the Rm9. Will save up and try one. The nuppin is really hard for me to build, always takes me a lot of time and I'm sure I don't do it well, but it's just the best flavor and perfect air for me so it's worth it. But wish I could find a good build video or get someone in the hangout that is really good at it to help me with the mechanics of it to do it better. I'm sure there is an easier way than how I do it. lol Appreciate you chimin in bout the Rm9

Here's how I've figured it out to make it easier..

Nuppin coil_1.jpg

Put the low side in the post first then push the high side down into the hole and tighten it down. Then possition the coil right up against the side of the deck so it will be right on the air hole and then tighten up the center post screw. Check height of coil to make sure it's either centered to the air hole or slightly above the center of the hole by holding the top lid against the bottom edge of the nuppin.

Excuse my cheesy quick drawing done on the phone with my pen hehe.. actually I'm a pretty good drawer back in the day.. been years since I've drawn anything.

Thanks steam, I have to cut the one that goes in the hole super short, but maybe am cutting it too short. Saw pdib's vid seconds long with no audio about bending the one that goes through the post, inserting the one in the deck first, then hooking the other one through the post but that doesn't work for me. Never know which leg to put in the hole, but your drawing shows that well. gonna bookmark that for when I re-do it. Do you wrap both of em the same direction?

Yes it's a pain but so sooo damn good once you get the sweet spot on her thst you like. Found that on the first try with my fav build:

7 wraps 30 gauge wire on a 2.5mm pole on the coil master using kgd. Comes out to 2ohms doubled up for dual coil = 1ohm on the dot.

Too much kgd you will taste cotton.. too little and it's burnt taste.. just right, ohhh yeah! Warm mouth filling flavor even from flavorless juice! ;)

Yes same direction.. sometimes I get mixed up and feel I need to reverse the coil direction for the second one and try it and it's wrong and then re due it in the same direction hehe. Only the 4th build in on the 3 nuppins.

The height I used to stress about but now I just eyeball it. Too low and boy can you suffer trying to attach it.. seems to be about a 1/4" leg.

And when you make the coil end it with the end leg off to the side and not in the same direction as the start leg.

hehehe Dear Mr Founder:
I was very lucky to have been given a nuppin by someone who didn't like it (can't imagine that) but thanks for the input. But does the rm9 = derringer in flavor? I've gotten a handle on most of the leaking now with orings. Mine usually didn't leak out the airhole, although it has, but would leak out the bottom, so maybe it was getting between the atty and afc and leaking down, not sure. It still happens, just not as much thank goodness. But the first two months I had the grand, almost everytime I picked it up I'd get a handful of juice.

To the President and CEO, OSA - I have had the opposite experience. All of my leaking with the Derringer style has come from irrationally exuberant squonking. I would say that the Derringer has the edge for flavor over the 9 but, for me, the absence of leaks more than compensates.
