Received my Bloog recently and love that bad boy. For me right now it beats my GoGo and Ego-T because I still had the urge to smoke a cig and the bloog really helped to stop that urge.

ANYWAYS...

I like to refill cartos myself and buy empty once to do so. Now since I am still a newb I heard these bats die pretty quick if any type of liquid comes in contact with them. Now with refilling them myself I increase that possibility. Are there any steps I can take to prevent any liquid to come in contact with the battery? If I refill the carto and wait 5 mins to see if any liquid comes out the atty side of the carto if by that point after 5 minutes no liquid has come out the atty can I be 99% sure that nothing will come out the atty while attached to the bat? Is it true that ASAP a drop of liquid hits the bat that the bat is done with? Or have there been cases in which people got some liquid on them and they still worked?

I always blow lightly through the mouth end of the carto onto a paper towel or napkin, then dab the battery end to be sure. It offers an extra measure of protection. Also, clean the threads on the battery regularly to make sure juice isn't building up there; just twist it on a paper towel.

The risk is real, but if you're careful, you won't have an issue. I've been refilling these cartos for 90 days and haven't killed a battery yet.

great thanks a lot man. I really love the Bloog as it helps me more to quit cigs then my GoGo or otherwise 510 models. I still need this feeling to have a cigarette in my hand I am sure you know what I mean. I got a lil scared when I heard about the chance of killing my $20 bat in a heartbeat. The cartos look pretty good manufactured though so I hope with some caution I will be alright.

You will be. Just make sure to always blow through it lightly, dab it well, and make sure it's not leaking. If you hear it "gurgling" on the battery, take it off immediately and make sure it's not leaking. That shouldn't happen, though, if you're being careful. Also, don't ever attempt to fill or drip into the carto while it's on the battery.

+1 Just be careful. I have been refilling my batteries for 4 months or so. Blow through the carto to make sure there is no juice and wipe the threads. You should have no issues.

Was it something I said?
If you're a real miser or over-optimistic filler, you can point the carto into a condom, at a slight angle not making a seal and blow. You might catch a drop or two of liquid that would have been wasted to the tissue. You can then use that condom to do the condom refill, and recapture that little lost drop...
