A while back I read a message that linked to a source for the bare electronics from a Vision Spinner. It just had the circuit board, switch, and battery contacts all wired up, but not installed into anything. However, it was a UK based vendor, and I have not been able to find a US based vendor with a comparable product. I am aware of things like the dna, but am looking for something lower cost.

I am working on a project where I would love to have a low cost circuit like this that has the typical protection such as preventing too long of a burn, short circuit protection, etc.

Is there a US vendor that sells this or something similar?

Thanks,
Joe Dunfee

Some of these are just "plug and vape".

Thanks, I checked out those links and other chips, but I don't actually need to vary the voltage. Rather, I want the user to not have to know anything about electronics or the system. I.e. they press the button and it works. And for the circuit, the important features are that it doesn't self-destruct because they held the button too long, or let the battery voltage get too low.

I'm curious do you want something that is a constant voltage, or are you looking for another dna style chip that will adjust to different ohms.

You don't need any circuit for this, just use a protected battery, a 5 amp switch, 510 connector, box, a spring fuse can give added protection. That is the simple build most of us did on our first mod.

5x eGo-T electronics set - E-cigarette battery connectors Heaven Gifts this may be what your looking for. its for five though. they also sell the ego connectors 5x silver eGo battery connectors (threads) - E-cigarette battery connectors Heaven Gifts also for five. 976058a7f777f6bd.jpg probably make 5 copper ones fairly cheap, or you could search for a site that sells them in single quantity

Thanks for that link. It looks close to what I have been looking for, but I can't check off all the items on my list. I need 3.3 volts (using 3.4 volt batteries) and 3 amps.

.........| I need
Good.....| 3.3v
Problem!.| 3 Amp - it is only 2.5 Amp
Good.....| 30 sec time out
Good.....| Low battery shut off

Note that the comments indicate there are quality control issues and the current is actually more limited than the 2.5 amp.

I wonder if I can use two wired up in parallel? But, I have doubts that they will play well together. Suppose one times out very slightly before the other? How will it react to the pulse-width-modulation of the other circuit's output and current draw from the battery? I hate to spend $12+shipping just to test and blow some out.

It seems there are no boards like what I want. It is looking like I may need to do a more complicated circuit. Perhaps an Arduino control so that I can get the 30 second shut-off. Buying a commercially made box-shaped battery system is starting to look more attractive. I wonder if any of them are useful to disassemble to remove the electronics, and then re-use the circuitry in a mod. Wiring in a new switch is the main issue for me.
