Low HDL and vape connection?

I just recently had a blood test and my HDL (good cholesterol) dropped from 110, 85 and 79 (very good)....to 47, as compared to the past three tests. I started using the juul in May. I also stopped drinking heavily at the same time. I’ll admit that I go through 1 cartridge in a little over 24 hours....probably considered heavy use. My LDL remained the same. Health is good.
Anyone had this issue? I’ve read cigarette smoking reduces HDL, but it isn’t directly related to the nicotine use.

Yes, quiting alchohol could be the change that reduced it. It’s possible.
I’ve googled a lot and I don’t think there are enough studies regarding exactly what in cigarettes causes lowering HDL. Some articles say it’s NOT nicotine, but all of the other stuff.

I was a medium heavy smoker for 20 years. I spend 1 dollar a day on my vaping and consume 5ml-7ml of 6mg or 1.5ml of 18mg in a low vapor pod system.

Yes! The cost is high....I like the convenience and discretion that the Juul offers. It’s small and the cartridge snaps in and out.
I’d be willing to investigate better options.....but I’m definitely stopping if it’s such a big health risk.
I need to do more research.

ive googled this topic in the past and there's not enough evidence for me to decide whether I personally think there's a connection. do stimulants typically lower hdl cholesterol levels? I doubt it. though, they do restrict blood vessels & raise blood pressure and heart rate.

I cant really see why there'd be a correlation pharmacologically...

HDL is a liver enzyme and is used to measure cholesterol levels. Alcohol is metabolized by the liver. You have stopped drinking heavily. I think that is your answer.

You should research your low hdl. Researching alternatives to Juul is up to you.
Some of my devices are at least as discrete as Juul and I can fill a pod in 8-10 seconds to save $1,000 a year. Depends how you value your time. 10 seconds a day is 60 minutes a year. $1,000 for an hour of your life.... (per year)
It's a non-argument in my opinion.
..but this is the new generation and convenience is the new Utopia. You can either follow the crowd or set your own agenda.
It's convenient for me to hire a cleaner. Oddly enough, £1,000 a year pays for 3 hours cleaning a week in my area of the UK. Oddly (again) I don't hire a cleaner as I can hoover and dust in 30 minutes, easy. It must be a generational thing.
Every time I see people using non-refillable pod e-cigs, I tell them they can do much better for much less money. Most are interested. They want to take the money saved from smoking and buy a sports car. You can't do that with Juul, Vuse, Mark10 and Blu, not unless you are raking it in. Then again, the standard of living in the US allows people much more disposable income. I should bow out.

No idea honestly not a doctor I'd probably try to do some online research in your shoes, but I'm not so much going to do it myself but I'd probably want to know. I think there are a ton of factors to look into though, good luck with it.
