No, you can't judge a book by its cover—so the cliche goes.

But you do the best you can with what you have to work with.

If someone with a low post count posts in the newbie forum, there's a tendency to presume we can help them out, give them the benefit of our good-or-bad experiences, forestall them from making whatever mistakes we've made.

Helping someone should not be confused with looking down on them. I don't know how or why you got the notion we were.

The only reason that there are restrictions on new members w/ low post counts is to keep spammers out. We get our share.

Many ECF members devote a lot of time to helping those with low post counts. I think most of us go out of our way to make new members feel like a part of the group. I'm surprised that you're getting that vibe here.

Welcome! New or experienced, it's always fun to meet people who share our passion for changing analog smokers into vapers. Glad that you found us.

Quite frankly I could care less of ones post count or my own for that matter. The most important thing for myself is that I am welcomed into this community and that I welcome those that are new to THIS COMMUNITY and Forum. I try to make it a common practice to welcome new peeps every week if not every day. New members are valueable to my own journey - they remind me of where I once was and keep me grounded.

POST COUNT -

ECF Forum -

If someone with a higher post count had said this, I might give it some thought. Since the OP has less than 10 posts, I'm just going to forget it.

Welcome to the forum Sunil!
I have seen a lot of respect and patience for us newbies in this forum...my Lord, I know I needed it!

:facepalm:Here we go again.

I am member of many hobby forums and acted as a moderator on a few.
Here are some observations.

At one end of spectrum you will have some who have thousands of posts.
And at the other you have some with very few. Then there is the middle ground, and not to be left out the trolls.

All sides will always try to run the sand box.
All are capable of throwing fits that would impress a two year old.
My advice is take a deep breath count to ten before wading in to a post.

Lets not make the moderators job any harder than it already is.:2c:

I agree with everything said here! Impressive.

I also reserve my right to consider the post-count, veteran status, general "standing" in the forum of the person who replies to my question before stocking up on unprotected batteries because someone tells me in their first post "in ain't no diff just color". There.
