So I got some low res 801s, and I'm running them on my reo, off a 3.7 volt 18650. And it's magic... It's like everything I ever hoped PVs would be.

The only issue I'm having is, the atty seems to run hot... Like, really hot... Hotter than than I'm necessarily comfortable with.... Is this pretty much normal for low res attys? And how hot is too hot? How hot can the atty handle? Am I going to destroy it?

The LR 801 attys are pretty neat, aren't they? liscab is right, of course: they are delicate. I ordered two: the first died after three puffs ... but the other is still going strong after two weeks.

Keep it moist, which will require much more frequent dripping (or button pressing, in the case of the Reo) than with a standard 801. As liscab suggests, rest between puffs (or switch off with another PV).

And you may want to consider using it with a not fully charged battery. Right off the charger, that 18650 is putting out 4.2V. For me (e.g., with the 14500 in my ProVape-1), that is wonderful for my standard attys, but too intense with the LR's. I've been using my LR 801, not on my ProVape-1, but on my DSE905, which throttles the output to 3.7V max: I like the vape and it's safer for the atty.

Glad to hear that you have more than one, for whenever it does go belly up.

Bill, all attys need to be kept 'wet'. If you operated with thinking that LR attys need to be drenched continually, they'll last you much longer and will run cooler as well. I find it almost impossible to flood a 1.5 ohm atty - 510 or 801.
