I've got a vmod 2.0 .. it came with a 2.0 ohm hybrid atty .. and the vapor is sub-par .. just not satisfying with the 3.7 volt battery they offer. ... so i bought the 1.5 ohm atty from them and same amount of vapor .. so what i'm wondering is .. if the atty is 1.5 ohm ..does that mean it's definitely an "LR" atty .? or .. do atty's listed as "LR" have something else goin on with them that makes them "Low Resistance" .. or is it really just the number of ohm's? .. cuz when you purchase the hybrid atty's from vapage .. they just give you 3 options (1.5,2.0, & 2.5) .. it doesn't say anywhere that the 1.5 is "LR" ...

2 ohms is LR. I have a few cartos that are rated as low as 1.7, but I really don't want to go any lower than that, for fear of frying them. Have you metered the battery? Sounds like you might have a lower output than 3.7 volts. If it meters ok, make sure the contacts are clean, and meter the connector with the battery in the unit. Your problem may be something other than the atty or carto.

i don't have any way to meter the battery .. what is that thig you use to do it? what is it called and do you know where i can get one?

Can't remember who it is, but someone's signature that goes something like "A vaper without a multi-meter is like a doctor without a stethoscope". A muti-meter is required equipment for anything by the most casual vaper IMHO. Helps you keep tabs on your batteries, chargers, connections, atties, etc. You'll have a MUCH better idea what's up when anything is not performing as expected. The number of ohms is the resistance to current pushing through the attie. The lower the number, the more current may flow through and (assuming your battery is up for it) the more power (read: heat & vapor) you'll get from it. The exact definition of LR (low resistance) versus SR (standard resistance) is a bit ambiguous, but, yeah, once you hit about 2 ohms, you are in LR territory for a 3.7v device.

Sounds like its flooded. These fine people can help you I bet.

Another good possibility. If they are both behaving the same, it could also be you are flooding them. Does it gurgle when you draw, get rather warm, and yet have very little vapor? Sometimes (depending on nic/alcohol content) it could still be harsh on the throat even without the vapor in this case. Blow it out really well (from the end you drip into) into a tissue, add just two drops right on the bridge, wait a few seconds and try again.

Hi & Welcome to ECF! The poor vapor output could be from a number of things, flooding being one of them. Are you using a dripping atty, or an atomizer / cartridge, or tank setup? (or something I missed....) If you've ruled out flooding and battery / connection issues, how about the liquid you're vaping? Does it contain enough VG to create an acceptable amount of vapor? Everyone has different preferences on this but most folks seem to prefer at least 20% VG in the mix, up to around 50%. Some folks go even higher, especially those who are sensitive to PG. VG produces vapor & smoothness, PG carries flavor, throat hit (the "feel" of the nicotine), etc. but can be harsh.

Keep reading & asking questions... the solution will present itself shortly if it hasn't already. Meantime don't despair! There's a learning curve to all this but it's not too sharp, & it's part of what makes the whole ride fun.

Best of luck & Happy Vaping! :vapor:
