I'm flying fron Australia to Fiji soon and wanted to know if i should keep my e-cig stuff in my check-in baggage or take it as hand luggage (carry on). Legality and safety are the 2 main concerns.
1. Is any of it (batteries, juice etc) prohibited in "checked-in" baggage?
2. Could it possibly get damaged at all from the low temps in the baggage hold? I think no, but wasn't quite sure.

thanks

I have always just put it in my carry-on to be on the safe side with temps and stuff. Maybe you want to e-mail the TSA to be on the safe side? I also only have ever traveled within domestic US, and never with my new mod... only my eGo. I think e-mailing or calling in advance is your best bet! Wish I could give better information, but I think checking with the proper authorities is always the best plan.

First time I flew I put it in my luggage. No problem. The next two times I just put it in my carry-on. No problems. Last week I flew to Canada and back with my Provari sitting in a zippered pocket in my carry-on. I was expecting them to haul me away for having a pipe bomb looking device but no one said boo.

Domestic US - Ok to carry on - put your juice in the ziplock baggie, with other liquids/gels. Make sure the bottles are less than 3oz (30ml = 1.01 oz). If you're concerned that the TSA is too stupid to figure out if 30ml is too much, you might wish to label and mark your bottles in ounces. Batteries and accessories are ok.

Internationally, I've had no problems traveling to the US. The Aussies looked at my 808 and asked what it was. I told them an electronic cigarette, and puffed it to demonstrate! :) I also flew Sydney to Melbourne and back, and was never questioned about the e-ciggy.

You guys should be ok to fly with juice and PVs.

I flew round trip to Australia from LAX a few months ago. Flew into Brisbane, and out from Melbourne. Also made about 4 flights in the country as well. No problems at all.

I carried a few 6ml bottles, 2 cartos, and an atty with a drip tip in my carry on. I put the bottles and cartos in a ziploc bag, but I don't remember Australian security being all that worked up about liquids. Or maybe they didn't make me take my shoes off? I can't remember what exactly, but their security was a lot less of a hassle than here in the US. All of my larger (15 ml) bottles and extra cartos and atties went into my checked bag.

Qantas did ask me if I had any Lithium batteries in my check baggage. That was the first time I had ever been asked about that. Evidently they are concerned about the fire potential from a faulty battery. Fortunately, I had all of my batteries in my computer bag so that wasn't an issue.
